Red enemy triangle markers have been disabled.

We are testing a gameplay change that we hope will increase teamwork and tactical options.

We have disabled enemy red triangles. These triangles appear above enemy heads when they are in close range and line of sight.

I would love to get some feedback from our players concerning this change. We are strongly considering making the gameplay change permanent.

Keep them off, it makes sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies easier. I first thought that this was a change in the patch.

This sounds very similar to a BF1942 server option where the distance an enemy's tag could be seen was adjustable. It was tough on us using AA to avoid hitting our own planes.

Re: Red enemy triangle markers have been disabled.

I like it. Even though the triangles are turned off right now for enemies I find I am still using them, kind of. When someone is close enough to have a triangle and he does not have it he becomes an instant target.

So I vote for turning off the red triangles permanently. Like Curlydave said, it makes it easier to sneak on an unsuspecting enemy.

Re: Red enemy triangle markers have been disabled.

I found myself very confused. I think I had come to use them extensively. In firefights I am much more hesitant. I never payed attention to the friendly markers, only the enemy red ones. I think it will take some adjustment, but I am now fairly convinced this will benefit gameplay.

Yeah I think it's better to have them off, otherwise it's possible to shoot people through brush, by aiming beneath the triangle.

It is also possible to remove brush and grass client side though. So even if you think you are hiding in that bush, you could just be standing there to another player.

Regardless, lets keep an eye on this and see how we like it. It may be difficult to determine its effects separate from the new patch. but it is a change that makes lots of logical sense.

I'd like to see the green friendly triangle markers disabled as well.

Any detailed feedback on this change? I know it may be difficult to see its effects in conjunction with the recent patch.
