    Re: Release date?

I'm still waiting to see a demo before doing anything with this. Feedback from TGers that are in the beta was that in it's current state it wasn't exactly TG friendly.

Maybe that's changed as the beta has progressed.

If you played the original ET, then you'd know whats its going to be about. Wolfenstein: ET is still played by alot of people. Plus its a free download and always has been. It's fast paced objective based game, where you level up during the game round.

I've pretty much lost all interest in this game now. They missed their shot to release it soon after BF2142 came out.

It'll ship when it ships, just like Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Windows Vista (AKA Longhorn), and Duke Nukem Forever.

    Re: Release date?

I saw something recently about Team Fortress 2 that lead me to believe that it might not end up being vaporware afterall.

ETQW is still hanging on with a mid July release and with them finally opening up their forums I tend to think they cant be too far off also with the increased online ads. I would imagine we are only a month or so out. *crosses fingers*

    Re: Release date?

I've got plenty of other things to keep me busy, so I don't get all anxious about the release of any new thing. I also don't mind TV shows going on hiatus. It's more time to get all the other stuff watched/played/read.

Well Ebgames has it now at August 1st, pretty sure it will still be pushed back. By then I'll be playing Crysis and lets hope Crysis release doesn't get pushed back as well.

    Re: Release date?

It looks like a public beta is coming soon. Seeing as they don't give a date it's probably still a little way off but "soon-ish" is better than never.

From what I can tell by quickly digging around the SplashDamage and official ETQW forums it looks like it'll be one of those Fileplanet "public" beta dealies. Paid subscribers get first dibs and anyone else with a Fileplanet account gets a shot at the rest of the keys. The Supreme Commander public beta worked the same way and I got into that easily without a paid subscription. IIRC so did the BF2142 beta and lots of people here got in. Hopefully we can get some of our peeps here at TG in and test this sucker out.

I'm definitely gonna get in on this. Other things that I've read are that there's 60,000 slots available. I hear they are reserving a few for paying fileplanet subscribers, and the rest will go to free members. I have the game downloaded and ready, I just need a key!
