    Pre-Order vs. Waiting

Okay, I've been dulling over whether to pre-order ETQW for about a few weeks now. I know there are some collectable playing cards and an early chance to reserve your ingame name, but is/will it be worth the time and money pre-ordering now? And secondly, from where should I pre-order (I'm reside within the U.S.)?

I'd wait for the demo, that's what I am doing. It looks like this game will be fun but you never really know until you play.

I'm a sucker just like the next guy for gaming hype but just like a movie trailer you may want to wait until the reviews hit the press or get feed back from other players before laying out $50.

Having said that, I've got my credit card out now pre-ordering, Crysis, Half-Life, BioShock, Age of Conan....etc.

Please don't tell me they are going to dump an EA-style user registration system on us just to play online.

You can pick up a preorder box from bestbuy without actually reserving the game and this will allow you to reserve your name. If thats important to you. I know for me I did but I didnt get the collectors box. Every time I have purchased the collectors box. I end up throwing it away. Seems to be a waste of $20 IMO

LoL sounds like me. I have been trying to resist the temptation of AoC. I have to stay away from MMORPGs. I am still a recovering WoW addict

I'm waiting for a demo too. Too many things get hyped because of trailers, etc. only to have the demo come out and be underwhelming. Plus, I need to have a rough idea whether it will play decent on my machine.

Hmm, what if they don't release a demo? Would I have to siphon someone's copy to "test drive" it?

I'm going to nitpick the wording of the open beta announcement and say they're going to have a demo later.

The Dev said that the beta is not the demo instead of the beta not being a demo. Implying there will eventually be a MP demo to garner interest in their little big baby.
