Ever since i got arma2 i have had this problem with trees and pushes other then pine trees. it is especially bad with orange tees and bushes. Whenever i get within ~5M of one of these evil plants my FPS dies. Seriously it dies. I can go from 30fps standing in Zelenogorsk, then walk next to a tree and have it drop to 2 instantly. I have found a work around in lowering my texture to low then back to highest and the lag stops until i move to a new area, but it has already gotten me killed twice cause of my inability to run or move while its reloading all the textures and things. I have tried Proper foliage mods and they fixed some trees, but not all trees. And they certainly made everything ugly so i took the mod off. I have tried the latest beta which gave me a massive boost to fps in cities you should get it) but it also didn't do anything to help my evil trees of doom problem. So anyone have an idea on how to fix it? You would be my hero.

I'm posting this to make sure that I'm not the only one noticing this. While you are standing or prone and look through the iron sights, it's normal and your sights are lined up properly... however, if you are kneeling while using ironsights it looks like my point of view (or the gun) is swaying in a weird way, at some points it looks like my guy is trying to press his face against the lower right part of the rear sight and it's aggravating me because it's throwing my aim off.

I could make a video to demonstrate the effect, but has anybody else seen this problem? If other people know about it do we know if it will be patched in the next version? I prefer to be kneeling behind cover and shooting than standing up behind a low sandbag wall just to be able to look down the sights properly.

I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this but I'm not sure where else it would go.

1. Is there a way to change my default movement to be walking instead of running when I spawn instead of having to double-tap the shift key? It's only a minor annoyance, but would be nice.

2. While playing SP, is there a way to disable the little helper dots over units? I have a little transparent green dot over friendlies, red dots on enemies, and white dots on independents. Can I turn that off?

3. When dealing with AI, is "Hold Fire" the equivalent of "Return Fire", meaning they will not engage enemies, but they will return fire if fired upon? That seems to be the way the AI is behaving, just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding.

4. When in High Command mode, is there a way to set a series of waypoints without having the AI automatically start following them? I'd like to set a series of different waypoints for different groups, and then give the command for them all to "go to the next waypoint" at once, but as soon as I start setting waypoints, they start moving.

My compass is useless during the day unless I look directly into the sun. Some flares look like they are nukes and NV gets all funky at times. And the Eotech is all but useless to me though the Aimpoint is fine.

I just bought a new gpu (5870) and was able to turn everything on high and that fixed the compass, but its busted so I gota go back to my old 8800.

Ok, I've just spent the whole of my down time figuring out this supposedly awesome mice.
I wanted to use it to chuck it at the neighborhood punks as their late Halloween present.
Obviously, that didn't happen.

So, I've installed the Setpoint 4.8 after wait for it...5 hours of Google and reading up troubleshooting forums. Yeah too much time spent for something I bought which was supposed to make my life easier.

Problem, is whenever I start up the Setpoint. It stays open for about 10seconds then closes. Can't even adjust the settings of the mouse, which renders it useless for me.

Anyone have the same mouse and can you me point towards the right direction?

Many thanks.
I patched it all the way up to 1.14, but it doesn't want to start. It goes through the checkboxes fine, then it's just a black screen, with the windows 'loading' cursor on-screen, sometimes it'll change to the ArmA cursor too.

I'm running Windows 7 with an Intel Core2Duo E8500 and an ATi Radeon HD4870. My drivers are up to date. I can also run ArmA 2 perfectly which is what's really odd.

EDIT: 1.16 beta patch fixes this.

AMD 720BE Oced to 3.2 gig
8 Gig DDR Ram
285GTX all latest drivers
Vista 64 and using the -winxp command (or it really doesnt work)
