Would love to get online and have a flight sometime just to do it , maybe during next week.

Just got Track IR pro and it's blown my mind hehe. Anyways will get the weekend parties out of the way and check back here. Would like to get a feel for online before I approach an active squadron somewhere.

Thanks in advance and will check back after my hangover.

p.s all configured for teamspeak and game patched up
Welcome to the club!

Tuesday or Wednesday night are probably going to be the best time for me to get in the air as I don't have work the next day so can stay up later. I can be around any other weekday until 7pm EST. If anyone else is interested say so now

As for a Squadron, I can only recommend the one I belong to which is the 72nd VFW. Great bunch of guys with a lot of guys who fly, flew or work/ed on military and civvy aircraft.

Wow nice site

Also looks like a good bunch too. Will delay that flight Jex and brush up a little more after reading some of the stuff on that site. I have plenty of time so may aswell get it all right from the start.

Be in touch soon mate and thanks for all your pointers upto now.

Hey guys i was planning on getting this sim at the start of next month. Ive been doing a lot of research on it and noticed that there are several downloadable patches. My question is when i get the sim would it be nescecary for me to download the latest patch? Or would i be able to get started?

Re: Should I pick this game up?

You can fly the sim straight out of the box - it's not like it's broken from the start! But to enjoy all the improvements you will want to patch up to the latest which is update version 1.0.13.

Have fun.

Re: Should I pick this game up?

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I've been around. A couple reformats, uh hem - hundreds of WoW hours sucked out of my life, but I got my Cougar, pedals, and TrackIR reinstalled so I thought I'd see if anyone was still up and flyin' here.

Re: Should I pick this game up?

Hey old friends (if any of you remember me). Used to fly with some of you a couple of years ago. I haven't been doing much flying but have now started to get back in the groove. Really need to brush up on the fundamentals and shake off the rust.

For any of you wondering about this sim, definitely pick it up if you're into realistic flight sims. If you just want an out-of-the-box fly around and shoot things up game then this is not the sim for you. But if you want an incredibly immersive flight sim experience then this is by far the best flight sim out there. Be ready for a huge learning curve but don't get frustrated if you don't quickly pick it up - it takes a while. But that is also a huge part of the beauty of this sim. I've heard some real F16 jocks say that if you can master this sim then you're probably 50% away from knowing how to fly the real thing.

Anyway, would love to get some online flying going again.

Hey BD - nice to see the old squadron patch there. I'd love to get a flight in sometime - what's your schedule like?

I rather shoot stuff on the ground its much more fun

"..shoot stuff on the ground"??

This guy does not know what he is missing! Falcon4 is a 'candy store' for guys/gals who like to do 'mudmoving'. Learning curve is high and tech stuff is lots but a co-ordinated well planned mudmoving mission is very satisfying when it works!

Re: Should I pick this game up?

Does this run fine on Vista 64, I have it, but I'm having problems getting it to work.

EDIT:

Fixed it, had to get rid of a codec.. Now it's time to figure out how to get an F-16 off the ground. heh.
