Noob question about cockpit switch functionality
Hello,
In Falcon 4.0 Allied Force there are a lot of switches in the cockpit you can operate - this is great - but (sadly ?) there are also switches which cannot be operated (mouse cursor is a red square over them). Is this a bug or a feature ?
OK, the function of some switches cannot be simulated (like oxygen supply or air-conditioning in the cockpit) but what about the FLIR switch or WX switch right next to the "keypad" below the HUD for example? Is there no FLIR(Infra-red is it ?) inside a F-16 or is this functionality (and the functionality of all the other "dead" switches) classified, so it cannot be simulated ?
Just want to know...

Re: Noob question about cockpit switch functionality
Switches that have a red mouse pointer cannot be operated. The F16 does have FLIR through the hud but that is operated via the ICP. As you said, most of the switches in the cockpit work (enough for you to know how to start the real thing
), the others are either irrelevant, just not modelled or classified (we could tell you but then we'd have to kill you
).
Check out the cockpit trainer here for some more info.Jex.
