snapping noise after takeoff

after i leave the ground in the takeoff mission, the first time i bank hard i hear this groaning metal noise and eventually a loud crunch or snap. After this it stops making noise and the plane seems to fly fine. is this normal, or did i forget to change some setting?

1. Remember to raise your gear?

2. Don't go too fast with external stores - i.e. when you are Cat III config. I usually try to keep it under 500 knots. Once you get rid of the bombs, switch to Cat I and things should handle better.

Re: snapping noise after takeoff

thanks, but it primarily happens under high G, not at high speeds... ill try flying with nothing on the pylons and see what happens

Re: snapping noise after takeoff

You've answered your own question. You cannot pull high g turns with bombs on your wings. a 2000lb bomb at 9 g's weighs 18,000lbs. You are ripping the bomb off your wings and probably a lot more too if the damage model was betetr in falcon.

You also need to watch your speed too.
