Re: Tg F4af Is Dead
Good grief, look, I'm sorry if my comment offended anyone on a personal level (except Wolf, he's fun when he's offended). It absolutely was not the intent AT ALL. Looking back, I was frustrated and should have chosen my words better, so let me explain more clearly - I REALLY enjoy flying MP F4. I REALLY enjoy TG. In my months on here I think I can remember maybe one time I complained personally about another pilot and that was when they jumped on the server unannounced when I was landing and lagged me into a hanger (heavy crosswind situation, I still contend). And that was over by the end of de-brief. It isn't the people in the group - they're great - it's the lack of them. When I started flying here some months ago I got into it pretty good and especially appreciated the way this group did it versus elsewhere...there were challenging missions where teamwork was essential, for those needing instruction it was readily available, for those more experienced there were plenty of opportunities to lead or exchange thoughts on tactics, etc. Basically there were a solid number of participants flying regularly which allowed us all to catch a quality mission just about any evening we could break away for a bit...hell, I remember when 6 and 8 ships were not that unusual on here and you sometimes had to scurry to get a seat...anyone remember the broadcast button? Lately, for whatever reason, the participation level has dropped to the point where there are hardly any missions being flown, and those are often only two-ships. I know there are any number of factors; time zone differences, the season, computer malfunctions, whatever, and there certainly are far higher priorities in life than this stuff, but if you're looking to fly F4 MP like I am when I can get away, the fact is that lately, there are fewer and fewer opportunities to do so here and that's a bummer. That was my *only* point after a frustrating two days of waiting to fly a good mission in the new version.
If I'm not banned, or worse, sentenced to three hours alone with Wolf in the Pilot's Lounge, I remain a supporting member and will continue to check in hoping to fly F4 MP in TG whenever possible. I also remain eager to help any way I can...I really wish I had the answer. Maybe Jex is right, it's a seasonal thing, there's a natural cycle and we're in the lull. My offer in the forum to host new folks and help get them settled into the sim still stands too of course. Again, didn't mean to piss anyone off. I don't play that way.
Monkey out...[TG] Monkey

Re: Tg F4af Is Dead
This often becomes a problem as the weather outside gets nicer. The only answer that I have is to organize some recruiting. Browse some flight sim forums and suggest TG whenever someone says they're looking for a mature community (but, obviously, don't spam anyone else's forums). Once you find a thread where people are complaining about a lack of teamwork or complaining about immaturity, post a link to it here and everyone here can subtly chime in with how great TG is. This has worked wonderfully for BF2.

Re: Tg F4af Is Dead
Monkey you're not banned at all. We all have bad days mate and a need to vent sometimes. It also got a healthy discussion going as well so it's all good. It has pointed out the reasons for the quiet times as well which is not a bad thing. Hopefully any potential TG'ers reading this post will come to realise that we're about a different kind of gaming level. We don't run around like idiots shouting "Boom! Headshot!!", we're not all about points and we are people who like to game with players that will watch your six and back you up when you need it. If you want to play the games like the real guys do it in the real world, then TG is the place to do that.

Though that's always fun to do from time to time.......

With that in mind, perhaps how we sometimes Schedule Training sessions for new people, we should Schedule Flights. Such as that, every Friday at 6:00 P.M. we all meet up on the server and do a few flights together. That way, people know when other people will be on TS ready to play some Falcon 4.0. instead of just randomly checking TS every now and then.

Re: Tg F4af Is Dead
The past week I have been refreshing a friend of mine his flying in falcon. We used to play together over lan about 5 years ago. We actually never made it back because the sim would crash each flight, but now i'm trying to get him ready, do some flying time and target practise. Trying to explain the basic things that i know and what I have learned at TG up untill now. Once he is comfortable with falcon again he will PM someone for an O'flight.
So, that makes another european again.
