Its a big book! I have a copy from the original version of the game. Is it mostly still compatable with Falcon AF, as far as everyone knows? It would be mega convinient to be able to have it on the desk for cockpit referencing and whatnot...does it still apply?
I'm sure when it says "reference page..." it'll be off, but as far as the applicability of the actual information. How about the keyboard map? Etc
I've got that old manual too and it is thing of beauty. They don't make manuals like that anymore.
I do remember when I was first getting into Falcon I read that manual a bunch of times and had it practically memorized. Then Falcon SP3 came out and their manual was 300-something pages. They were many areas of the Falcon manual which became irrelevant at that point. Or maybe not irrelevant, but rather, greatly changed. I can't remember exactly which areas but avionics, particularly radar modes, comes to mind. I would think that that keyboard map is about 70% the same. As for what is what in the pit, that should be correct. Images of MFDs and HUD are a little different.
It is still a good reference to have on your desk but always be aware that items in that manual can be different If you have the resources, printing the Falcon AF manual and placing it in a nice, hard-bound binder is very useful. I've got mine on my desk with many key areas bookmarked.

It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
