Re: Portals
Your username doesn't matter as long as you use the password "Portal" as well.
On a side note, keep an eye on the Valve store. Rumor has it the your Companion Cube may still be alive!I am the one, I am the zero, I am your low resolution hero.

Re: Portals
Companion cube will be available for the holidays.
I absolutely loved it, the wife did too. We played it together over the weekend and had a great time with it. Simple, pure, undiluted, fun.

Re: Portals
After around two frustrating and mind cramping hours I finally got my Vanilla Crazy Cake achievement. Damn some of those are HARD, but they just streamlined the original tests in some cases so the process you use on the advanced test can be reused for better times.
That said, I gave up on the challenges as a lost cause and I can't seem to get the camera shy achievement either. My sanity is not in question...
It was a confirmed casualty some time ago.
Light, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they ticked me off.

Re: Portals
I got to 30 on camera. A few are well-hidden. If you feel like cheating a list is on Steam forums.

Re: Portal - Spoiler Thread!
Probably the coolest trick I did was that part in level 19 where you first encounter a rocket turret. It destroys the first glass pane, and then you get it to destroy the second glass pane. You continue to move down the hall but reach a room with another glass pane (right before the air duct).
To break the glass, I didn't think to make a portal to make the rocket turret fire through and destroy the glass pane (well, I did, but only after I was searching for a way to get into the air duct). Instead, I made a floor and ceiling portal and dropped a chair into it. I let the chair build up speed until it was zipping by, and then popped a portal onto the wall beside me; the chair shot out of the wall portal so fast I didn't even see it, but it broke the glass pane!
Pretty cool "emergent gameplay" kind of thing.

Re: Portal - Spoiler Thread!
Oh, and the various personalities that each of the GlaDOS orbs represented and how they gibbered at you while you carried them to the incinerator was hilarious.
The orange orb: "What's that? What's this? Who are you? Where are you going? Are you coming back? What happened to your legs?!"
The blue orb: Just a constant stream of meaningless calculations and math problems.
The red orb: "GRRRRRR-RAAARRRRGGGHHH-GAAAAAH-GRRRRRR-BRAAARRRGGGHH!"
LOL. Lovely little game.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blah blah blah.
