I just finished it, not the extra missions though.

Anyone else hesitate with their companion cube? I did. Be honest!

Yeah, I got rid of it right away. I was surprised how funny this game was! The final boss battle was hilariously. And yes the end credits were brilliant.

Has anyone else been working on the challenge levels? I've managed to get gold on the first two but. The Step ones are the worst!

Re: Portal - Spoiler Thread!

Such a good game! The more I played, the funnier it got, but also darker, and started me thinking that this was Black Mesa or something. Turned out it was their rivals though, and man what a great ending!

Just kinda bites how short it was, though I think we'll see some people make maps for it. Be cool if Valve released a "challenge," map pack.

I think I'm gonna make a gigantic box room just to see how high/fast I can go.

Yeah, the ending was genius. The entire game was brilliant. I sure hope Valve either updates this game with more content or turns it into a series of it's own.

Re: Portal - Spoiler Thread!

How long is the game in playtime, anyway? I played for about an hour and a half last night and had a lot of fun with it. It was like being in an Escher painting, a comparison I'm sure I'm the first person on the planet to make.

Re: Portal - Spoiler Thread!

I dunno probably about 2-4-ish. I got stuck for a bit because of being slow from being sick, so that was like 15 mins wasted at least three times.

Re: Portal - Spoiler Thread!

I beat the game right about the 2 hour mark. It's really short.

If you go back and listen to some of the commentary, Gabe essentially say this game was really more of a showcase for what they can do with Portal. Sequels are most likely already on the way with more tie-ins to the Half-Life games.

Anyone notice the similarities between the "leg boosters" on the chick in portal and the ones those modified "things" in Half-Life 2 use?

Yeah, at first I was like, "is this where stalkers (the things with the legs) go when they're good?" Gotta go back and do the commentary.

Fun game. This and Peggle are great games to play with my kids looking over my shoulder. TF2 not so much.

Re: Portal - Spoiler Thread!

They should make the credits song available for download. What a pity that it's not already available in MP3 or OGG format somewhere in the steam directory...
