Yes, I know. But 70% plus are actually signing up ONLY because they want in, not to game with TG. I hate to be frank, but it's just that way.

But besides that, I am UNABLE to give out the referral code due to several reasons.

(1) I have been staying with family in preparation for college, and will not be going back home with the exception of holidays, which means that I don't even have my computer with me.

(2) The TG code was disabled far, far too many times for me to renew it. I literally had to renew it over 4 times in the span of 2-3 days. They said that the code was being used by others outside of TG, which I figure is strange, but they didn't have a very hard-to-figure-out referal system.

(3) Activity in Global Agenda quickly diminished due to the complete LACK of real playability of the older builds (after all, it's a testing program, not a demo), and those who were only looking for the 'wow' factor were quickly gone, leaving it an unrewarding adventure for those at TG. I literally could only muster up 2 members from TG that actually had an interest in playing GA for a long time, before I called it quits.

Due to these, I regret to inform everyone that it is very unlikely that you will recieve a TG referral code, nor is it very likely that you will be admitted into the Alpha, even if leadership was transferred.

However, Global Agenda is/was moving through Alpha relatively quickly, and will in all likelyhood be in the early beta phase by mid to late 2010, all issues with coding etc aside they may encounter. I suggest waiting for that time, when the game is written out and only requires minor bug/glitch fixing and other smaller additions. I HIGHLY suggest you sign up immediately for the beta. It's much more likely for you to get in the faster you sign up, and then you have a chance to get into the game when it is actually refined and mostly playable, so that you can really enjoy it.

Take it from me, testing a game in alpha in no way really amounts to playing and enjoying a game post-alpha. Testing is hard work, and the game can be heavily unbalanced and such during alpha, whereas beta is where they really start looking into making it really entertaining to play.

If anyone here at TG has the guts to step up and take responsibility as the resident Global Agenda 'leader', I would be glad to help set it up between HiRez and us... however, it was a lengthy and extremely awkward process to do so, not to mention the work involved daily to get people into the game. However, I would prefer it to be a TG member that is already in Global Agenda, and one that I know. Otherwise, it will be hard to get things transfered and working.

Actually Celestial, I don't mind being the one giving out the code to the odd TG members posting here, since you're busy. I don't know about TG Global Agenda leader...If anyone was around on the GA forums and things I'd certainly game with them. Encouraging them is more a matter of whether they are willing to play an unfinished game or not - as you said. But perhaps you could kindly PM me any info you're reffering to about the HiRez connection? I wouldn't mind if it was simple but you said it wasn't, anyway, if you send me a PM I'll have a think about it

And you're putting me off ever Alpha testing XD but I understand where it'd be a lot less enjoyable so, a good thing really. However, when I did talk to you it was the Beta I was signing up for...and since: got in, as well as played the game. They've had one Beta session, although it'll be a little while until the next one. I found it quite a lot of fun and that's probably because it's Beta, not Alpha testing. So they don't have to wait, it's here

I just thought they may as well post here if they want to be a part of it - even though the thread is called "Alpha sign up" it doesn't matter.

Yeah, these people should certainly stop posting, please. The code is for the TG community - that's how we got it. If it was an open code for everyone's use, then everyone'd be using the same slightly higher priority code...which in reality would mean they'd all be the same priority and you're back to square one. Thus, HiRez manages the distribution, and thus, if we didn't manage it too and just gave it out to whoever asks then it could well get -and by the sound of it would most likely be- disabled. Making giving it to random people useless to them, and a huge hassle for us. So again, the code is for active Tactical Gamer community members only.

Is it happening already? Wow, they are pushing through good.

I don't think it can really be called a 'beta' session (I mean, you can call it whatever you want), by standards I think it would be more of a 'playtest' during alpha, where they have gotten to a point where bugs have been worked out of the current additions to the game and people are able to play and actually have a bit of fun, but again it's done because the game devs need to see how balanced the playing field is. It's interesting that they are doing it that way, allowing more players in for a short amount of time... It's good to see they know they need to test stress on the game.

It's not that Alpha isn't fun, it's just... that's not it's purpose, you know? The devs aren't out to make you, the alpha tester, have the most fun you've ever had. They're there to make a stable game base, which will be added on to so that the game will take full form, so it's not like you can expect something like WoW to be a massive, combative, quest-filled game, if you're playing it while they are making those things work in Alpha.

I do suggest that you take an opportunity to alpha test. Just keep a level head and realize that it definitely has a high tendency to not be as fun as you might think at first.

I'll PM you in regards to the process, although it seems at the rate the game is being developed and tested it seems that it may just be more beneficial for players to just sign up for beta and let the devs do their thing.

Haha, well I was just using the word "session" to point out that it only lasted a few days...which really surprised me when I read that lol. I thought it'd be more along the lines of unavailable for a few days while they make all the changes in one go, and test for the rest...rather than the other way around XD but I'm new to the whole thing. And yeah...they were meant to be testing the balance of the game (although people seem to be arguing that for some reason), as well as that the game progression system is working...while obviously still looking for bugs, that's not the main focus no, but Alpha of course, didn't catch everything. Sounds like they did get a hell of a lot though.

Anyways, it's actually 2 and a half weeks before the next Beta "playtest" so...signing up as soon as possible + the code and I'd think those people should make it in before that. Although...it doesn't matter if they miss it because at this rate with the large gaps, those 2 playtests are the only one's they'd miss.

The arguing (in the forums of GA, right?) is just everyone's opinions of the classes. Sometimes the DEVs will not feel as underpowered as some players do when they play certain classes simply because they either do not feel, for instance, the same 'sacrificial joy' of being a medic, or just don't know how to play it right.

Alpha actually gets a lot more of the bugs out of the way, though. It's just... that's also where more come in and some of them are much more noticable (like, say, a wall that is missing a texture and so it only renders as a pink-black checkerboard wall, which is of course not only not what they want for the wall, but is obvious), so a lot of the bigger less complex ones get handled Alpha phase.

Beta is where it becomes playable for real, and that's where more people come in and allows the devs to test for stress on the game as well as allow more people to have the opportunity to 'find' a glitch (with 1000 people running across a map, it's probably easier to find out that there's a hole in the ground that makes you fall out of the game, than just 1 guy trying to run everywhere that the 1000 people would run, you know?).

For everyone else: ALPHA SIGNUPS AT TG ARE NOW STOPPING. BETA SIGNUPS ARE IN PROGRESS AT GLOBAL AGENDA AND I SUGGEST YOU LOOK TO THE 'Global Agenda Beta Sign Ups' THREAD MADE BY MrJengles!
