Discussion: Other Multiplayer Games / First Person Shooters (FPS) - MOH Warfighter thoughts - Games solid. Not sure about all the game modes but me and Dredge played for
Games solid. Not sure about all the game modes but me and Dredge played for 2 hrs. this afternoon on vanilla settings and it was a blast. Game modes do a very good job of making you rely on your fire team member. I am really anxious to see "immersion" server settings. Hopefully Dredge will have that up and running soon
I played the game last night about a half hour after it was available with a few TGer's on our server. After that I tried out singleplayer and the experience although refined felt pretty close to the first campaign by Danger Close. Although you can move in big areas it is very much an on rails shooter.
As for the multiplayer I really liked the combat missions from the first MoH revamp so that's the only thing I have been playing so far. One thing that has impressed me from the start is the amount of customization that is possible. However even with that I don't feel like I am getting jipped with the starting weapons as everything seems to perform realistically. Although there is health regeneration I feel that getting hit by enemy fire is extremely punishing and is spot on.
Good to hear that the gear you start with isn't bad, especially after gamestop screwed up my preorder last night. Downloading now and this game is really 16GB!?! wow, seems like a lot for a shooter, gotta make some room on my tiny ssd now..
Its an ok game, The graphics are sub par, the weapons are surprisingly good, The maps aren't anything amazing but they aren't anything bad, the game modes are kinda fun.
A lot of reused assets from BF3, Textures and models, I mean its nothing to get upset about "but after seeing how pissed people are about a slight blue tint on some of the maps in BF3" it certainly will come up as a never ending complaint fest within the community. http://i.imgur.com/WOvNch.jpg One of many things.
The Graphics are, well http://i.imgur.com/if2Uoh.jpg It just looks bad to me.
But both of those are very minor things, almost ignorable, but Im bringing them up before someone else does. I don't have an issue with either, but someone mainly me as of right now will bring it up.
Its not bad but it shows laziness to me, which could be present in many other areas of the game.
Overall, I've enjoyed the little I have played, I doubt Ill buy any DLC for it, but I'll be in the servers from time to time for a few rounds, something to do while I wait for the BF3 servers to fill.
It was 30$ So far it seems like its worth it.

I am on all high or Ultra....Game is gorgeous in my opinion. Looks better than BF3.
As for HC Mode....YAY! I played a round on a different server last night. No crosshair or HUD, increased bullet damage....sure does make you rely on your fire team member.
While I am on Fire team members I must say its absolutely key that you STAY WITH your buddy. I played a few rounds with random guys and they would go all rambo and not heal or re-arm you, the contrast was when playing with a TG member (Dredge) we were able to dominate the maps and took the leaderboard several times in a row. This game is awesome how much it rewards you for using fire team teamwork and how badly it punishes you if you don't!
Can't wait to try it on the new settings....nice work Dredge.
Little note, for those who are just coming into this....give the game a chance. It's rough for the first few hours(believe me I know) but once you get a basic idea of map layout and start working with some TG members the game truly does take on a whole new dynamic.
P.S. The apache fireteam reward was awesome Dredge
Lol twas epic indeed. I had no idea we would both be in it. The one time I got it in the beta I was in it by my lonesome. Probably not in a Fireteam. But that was a pleasant surprise! The first few seconds I was like 'why am I not controlling my gun' then I saw your name keep popping up getting kills with the Apache, added 2 + 2 and got 17 finally realizing you were my gunner. I look forward to being in a team with you again.
Let me get Fraps installed Assault. I will throw up some game stuff tonight for you.
Dredge, not 100%sure but I think I may be able to be on around 8 ET. If we have any kind of night like last night it would really show the games potential on teamwork.
Im on high/Medium, the game goes from actual garbage being super high resolution, http://i.imgur.com/auwPN.jpg To buildings and the ground looking like a game from 2006.
The games ok, but im worried about the teamwork aspect, so far I haven't been with anyone with a mic and its incredibly hard to stay with them, you stop for a second to reload they have ran off another direction and get shot right away, It'll be fun when you actually have someone with a mic, who sticks with you but its going to suck badly for anyone who can't get a teammate who will work with them.
The game certainly is not run and gun, Ive had a few people try to "bunnyhop" unless they have a shotgun its pretty easy to kill them.
Some of the maps, have only 2-3 possible routes and its very easy to camp them and hold the enemy team back, Half the round my team got their butts kicked, We switched sides and we kicked the attackers butts, so I'll have to see how it goes.
A single blow must destroy the enemy... without regard of losses... a gigantic all-destroying blow.

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
