There's SO much more we could do with this game. Frankly, I'm getting a little sick of the "Capture the Flag" game...we all seem to go our separate ways and get picked off one-by-one by some chuckle-head in an AH-64.

Like Ryn stated...if we could just organize our style of play, move in "battle units". Armor, infantry, AA support, it would be a lot more fulfilling to me personally. Truth be told though....I love being able to sneak up on your bud (on the other team of course) and knife him in the back...then get a big kick out of it on TS.

Now, I don't want to take away the fun. If we regiment-alize the play too much, we'll likely find our server quickly being emptied.

Before I left last night, I saw some real teamwork developing from the "pub-ies." One dude driving a helo, another 5 on board, jumping out over a flag to saturate the area. Too bad a nigh-invincible AH-64 happened along to destroy us all with one friggin missile. Aside: Is there a way we can mod the helos to be less effective. I mean really, one stinger is enough to ruin it's day, but in this game it almost impossible to bring them down.

Absolutely, there are things we can do individually that will not require much organization at all. The group I played with before all understood how we each were going to approach the map and could therefore anticipate how they would react to certain situations. This does not reqiure planning, just knowing how the team will react. That alone will greatly improve our teamwork.

For instance, Asch and I know that we usually take a flag and defend it. If he sees that I'm in trouble he will move from his position to help out. Once I get killed I spawn at his flag and hold it. He then, hopefully, takes the position I was at and defends it.

Simple things like this make playing much more enjoyable and affect no one else in the game. If we effectively hold those two flags it usually wins the map for our team since the rest of the yahoos are attacking their base keeping them busy.

IMHO that is largely due to the lack of seperate channels. It's hard to strategize when the other team can hear you. Especially for the support class. How can I tell my team where I have planted mines without rendering them useless.

If we are serious about getting this game to the next level we need 2 channels, one for opposition one for coalition. Not this "other" stuff.

    Amen.

Are there other modes other than capture the flag? The only other one I know is bombing radar installations but that was a map with vanilla BF.

This, to me, is a fundamental limitation of MANY games out there right now. CounterStrike got this right - why the hell haven't any other games developers taken notice and integrate this into their product? Having to rely on external means to gain voice comms is silly in this day and age.

I always seem to take out that chuckle-head in the AH-64

The reason I joined TG was so that I could work with a team. So far play has been little better than being on a pub.

I want to see squads and people playing their roles as they should be. This is what makes the game fun for me, not just running out to see who can get the flag or the kill. I like to play medic and don't expect to get a lot of kills, but I end up getting more than I should becuase I'm forced to play out of my role since no one calls for a medic.

Forum expansion is just the first step. I'd like to see us organize and start to play some tactics. Ideally get a private server going and run some matches, but i know we still have interest problems.
I agree. I have the most fun trying to defend a flag. I don't know how many times I'll sit the game at one flag by myself and keep the enemy from taking it... with a little help of course.

I'm not looking for clan matches or anything like that, but seeing people trying to work as a team, using teamspeak with channels, using the radio commands and sticking together. I'm always checking the map and usually see the no more than two arrows together.
