Far cry demo - anyone have it?
I've been trying all morning and every server is constantly full. Is there any chance that someone has this and it can be hosted for DL at TG?
Thanks,
J.

Great - let us know how it runs and what your sys specs are. I'm really excited about this game and hope it really does play as well as the movies show.

I grabbed it over BitTorrent. I knew P2P is good for something!
XP2400 @ 2.2 Ghz
512 MB RAM
9700 Pro Cat 3.10
It ran quite nicely at 1024x768 with most details at medium. For some reason I couldn't get AA to work so it looked crappy. The water looked fantastic. There were texture problems with rocks and some actors. It would flicker between black and the real texture on some sides of the object. The AI is pretty good. I got flanked and rear-ended a few times. The damage system was done well. You can't exactly rambo it the entire level. The AI has a good shot and you can't take many of them. There are chances to grab medkits and armor so you can last longer in a firefight. It's not like GR but it's not quite like a full action shooter either. You can sneak around but don't get too close because they'll spot you. They react well to grenades, running for cover if they see it coming.

This game looks to have promise, nothing but rave reviews about the graphics, and how you DON'T need a super-high HP machine to run it.

I just played it through...
wow.
It ran pretty smooth, graphics are pretty, AI is nice and quirky, and the vehicles/weapons are amazingly fun.
I can't wait for the full release, I REALLY want to hear how the MP beta testing is going though...
I'm just glad they are doing an early-MP test with the community, maybe that will help the gametypes evolve a little...
Long ass download, but worth it.
