Re: Weekend Night Game

Loads of fun tonight. I have forgot how much fun DC is. Our friends from The Dirty Sock [DS] joined us, and we had the server well populated. Let's try and make a habit out of this. Think of it as a work up for BF2.

Re: Weekend Night Game

The server had at least 20 people on when I had to bolt. (sorry to bolt... fiancee's grandma had a stroke ). I hope we can make this gathering a habit like Usarion said. Remember Tuesday night is official BF night. I know not everyone can make a middle of the week night, but let's shoot for it for now.

I also wanted to point out that last night was about getting the excitement back up for battlefield @ TG. We weren't all prepared to have the separate teamspeak channels working smoothly, but that will come. Don't let any problems with that get anyone down. More communication and teamwork will come as we get settled into it.

I'll be posting a separate thread about how to setup Teamspeak key binds to switch channels.

Re: Weekend Night Game

I got frustrated last night when no one was talking and people wouldn't even move into seperate channels. I found myself struggling to find how my experience differed from the average pub server.

Multiple folks asked me to move people into channels (with my TS admin rights), but I required that people make their own accomodations, as I didn't care to enable those people choosing to not be prepared to move channels with key binds.

I nagged people until they did it (at best I merely accelerated the inevitable). Immediately the gameplay improved, markedly, and I began to moreso appreciate the experience, which was now planned and coordinated.

Please, if you're going to play this game, configure your TeamSpeak such that you can move between the main BF channel, the Coalition channel, and the Opposition channel with ease and without leaving the game.

Also, search these forums for "teamspeak overlay".

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

Re: Weekend Night Game

I agree with crak, but remember most of us have been forced to play in pubs so give a few weeks for everyone to get back into the habit of concise communication and coordinated team play.

Re: Weekend Night Game

I believe the TGS folks are up for another Saturday night of BFDC. Let's get the TGers running as well.

Remember to setup Teamspeak

... and unfortunately I won't be on Saturday night... have some good fighting y'all.

Re: Weekend Night Game

Yup, we will be there. Let's shoot for around 8 eastern. Some of the guys on the left coast will probably be on an hour or so after that. I do believe we will have a great turnout tonight. If all goes well, and we get enough folks to come out from both communities, perhaps we can even divide the teams etc. Woot!
