Re: Team Sabre Mission Ed

Ok, the fix is in.

The "Coop Me Now" gives you an option to make a backup of your bhd.exe.

It patches bhd.exe, and saves a back up as bhd.exe.bak

So, looks like with a simple rename, you can go to Nova servers (for those that really are gluttons for smack-talk, insults, and cheater abuse.)

Ok, will run my BHD/TS, and see what happens... Wish me luck, lol.

Re: Team Sabre Mission Ed

Running with coop Me Now

It seems to be working. I am able to host locally, and from my machine, get into a simple SERVER TEST Desert terrain start mission, set up with only 1 guy, and an initial waypoint.

Pre game 60 sec wait (waits for player loading to server) works fine.

Mission starts underwater... float to surface, take a breath, rip off a few rounds from the CAR-15.

Next to design a mission with a run to an objective and extract, to test server functionality, then give it to you, or someone with a server, to test hosting, mission logic, and mission reloading.

Otherwise, looks like we can do this.

Remaining to be seen is can BHD+TS players play on a BHD only server. If so, fine, if not, I'll gladly revert, as I wrote earlier.

Well the COOP Host patch seems to work, remaining to be seen is if Jex can host, and we can connect to it Via IP, or whatever. I am only seeing options for Novalogic access, and LAN IP access, but nowhere to put in an IP for direct connect. Maybe we can get one of the coding smart people to figure out a way to rewire the connecting code? I will look around in BHD folders, see what I can come up with, but IP address coding issues are beyond me, other than typing XXX.XX.XX.XX

When I Did hosting before it was on novalogic.

Re: Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

Apparently there is a program called DEM, might allow IP hosting. I am looking into it.

Will report back.

Ok, here is the link to this DEM Software. Seems like it is semi-complex to get set up and running, but I am more of a digital artist, /writer, not a server guru:

http://www.timezone-warriors.net/download.php?list.8

Reading their forums at:
http://www.timezone-warriors.net/for...pic.php?11.882

There is a lot to getting this going.

I am going to look for something easier to use...However, DEM might be one option.

(What I am trying to avoid is making it tough for people to play. Most Especially Me.)

Re: Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

Tried Master Addon Manager Beta as a possible solution. Installed. Crashed my machine. Sorry, guy that write it, you're fired before you started.

Next, looking at Anaconda Server manager 2.0

Apparently Novalogic supports this one, also, and has dialogue with this guy.

It is at:

http://www.nova-inside.com/file.php?id=134

As always, more testing going on over here.

Re: Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

This anaconda guy looks like he knows his business. I would suggest going with this Anaconda Server manager 2.0 software, and scrap the BHD Coop Me Now plan. This Anaconda seems to allow better control.

(though I think BHD will still need to be patched.)

Re: Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

Another idea that comnes to mind is to just host via novalogic with a password?

That's about it for me today, going to grab dinner, then visit a friend for his birthday party.

Re: Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

By modding the initial BHD with Coop Me now, I was able to get a coop server up on Novaworld

(but again, could not connect due to IP issues wuth ISP)

Once at novaworld, MULTIPLAYER, do not log in, instesad select "Go straight to games"

from there, Host.

Okay, well maybe someone with a real ISP can host BHD, and we can join.

My efforts toward this for today are done. Back at it tomorrow, and I will start building a few missions.

Re: Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

LOL holy crap DFX - information overload!!! slow down I can't keep up

Thanks for the input. I'm out tonight and won't have a chance to go through this when I get back, I'll probably have an hour or so b4 I go to bed and that'll be gaming time. Tomorrow I'll Install everything and we'll see if we can get a game in.

Just to recap - do you have ST mod installed?

My times on and off TS are pretty standard these days. Usualy I'm on weekdays from 18:30 GMT (13:30 EST) to 00:00 GMT (19:00 EST) and the weekends any time at all.

See you wednesday I hope.

Re: Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

Yes, I have both BHD, and Team Sabre installed.

I am thinking we will have to meet on novaworld. Wednesday at 13:30 EST or thereabouts sounds good. I will work on a test mission, maybe we can file xfer it from me to you tomorrow.
