Re: Red Orchestra Gets a Publisher

Hmm... maybe I should go download Red Orchestra for UT2K4. It looked like a really good mod, but I just never got around to playing it. If it's being released as a commercial game then it must be pretty good.

Re: Red Orchestra Gets a Publisher

I think you can pre-load this now on Steam for $24.95 or something.

I may check it out. Sounds promising.

Re: Red Orchestra Gets a Publisher

Though I disslike Steam I'll be buying this in boxed version when it's out I'm sure. The Mod was awesome and I'm sure this will raise the bar even further considering all the stuff they've fixed/improved over the mod. I spent quite a lot of time playing the mod (mostly on the CiA/CoR clan servers) which was hard, fun, and sometimes frustrating but nothing else I've played has come close realism wise in the FPS world. I started playing AA because I wanted a modern weapons game like RO (AA is getting better but it's no RO).

They put some preview vids up the other day so if you've never played it go watch'm. Though they're mostly 3rd person views of the action and not fully indicative of the real feel of the game.

I preloaded it on steam, I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it yet, but it does look interesting.

Re: Red Orchestra Gets a Publisher

Promotion video was good. If you havent seen it yet, check it out.

Large maps and little details like when you are in armor and closing the hatch to go in, the transition from outside to inside view is continuous, as if you are really in that armor. These kind of things make the games immersive.

Beta testers say that it is completely different from the mod and almost a new game. I'll keep an eye on this.

Preordered. It'd be pretty neat if TG hosts a server. This game seems pretty ideal for PvP-oriented tactical teamplay.

Re: Red Orchestra Gets a Publisher

Got a copy coming as well, I think this would be a great game to pick up over here at TG.

Also, let's say someone's being a jerk and they're blowin up tanks at the spawn and ruining it for other players, we've made it so they cant do that. We've tried to think of all the asholes out there and the things that they can do to ruin a game and of ways to stop them.
LOL ! A jerk-proof game maybe
