Perhaps a Special Events custom map night once a month, though? It would certainly be fun to play on maps that are completely new!

I was to understand that the paying members had a little bit of say about some of this. If I'm wrong, please correct me. Can we put this to a vote from the members? I personally would like the custom maps and I believe pubbies would still come in and play. Maybe even more if we are one of the few servers actually doing something different. Adding custom maps will do one thing. It will dissaude those players who just want a quick fix and don't really care about the server anyway. Those who like our style of play will deal to be a part of it. It's not like they would have to download a map everytime. A one-time download and everyone is on the same page. The members who come in and play DC night after night are starting to get tired of the default maps. I know. I'm one of them. Last edited by Fait_Maker; 05-27-2004 at 03:42 AM. |

For those pubbies that like our style of play, I believe they would make an effort to find and download the custom maps. However I don't believe that we have enough of those folks and with custom maps always there, it may discourage some from even jumping on to our server. I too am somewhat tired of the stock maps. Most of us know how to play them, where to hide, choke points, etc. I'm not sure though that custom maps would bring back some of the missing TGers. Are they tired of the maps or are they lacking some of the team-work that has grown with the other games? I'd personally like to see some more organization of teams, breaking out into separate TS channels, having someone command the teams and see what can happen. I do like Cing's idea of possibly creating one night a week that is dedicated to custom maps. If we do add custom maps I'd like to see maps created by members of the TG community (we support our folks

Re: Custom DC Maps
The problem I see is that our recruiting has been horrible. I don't think we have enough members in our BF community. If you think this is the most effective way to recruit paying members, then maybe we should try this for a while. I think it would be better to try a week or two of somewhat aggressive recruiting, gain a dozen more members, and then try the custom maps out... Just my opinion.
