Half Life 2 Episode One Gets a Release Date?
Browsing Amazon on a slow work day:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...=UTF8&v=glance
April 24th.
$19.99, shipped from Target.
Wonder if we are going to get the preload -10% option.
Crap, I better finish the SP game!

Companies like that always give arbitrary release dates. You're much better off buying it from Steam anyways; it will probably be cheaper and you get it the day it comes out, plus it loads in like 5 minutes because you've already preloaded most of it.

April 24th has been the release date for quite awhile now...
I know my steam software will be pretty busy around that date...

Gabe Newell just told Game Informer Online that it's coming out May 31st for $19.99.

That's funny. Red Orchestra, Half-Life 2, Day of Defeat:Source, and every other game I've ever played on Steam worked the day it came out, after about 10 minutes of decrypting the preloaded files. Maybe you're doing something wrong.

Oh, RO might have dowloaded extra on the release day. I guess I figured it was just decrypting; I didn't watch the progress bar as it did it.
