Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
Yeah the MP is a total afterthought.
I agree with you accule. Its a great game, especcialy considering that its probably GSC's first serious title. Much like Farcry is going to be the building blocks for Crysis, i bet stalker will be the building blocks for the next GSC game.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
ok tell me what im doing wrong!
it seems im bleeding all the time! i have full health! i avoid radioactive spots! but my health keep going down, i eat my salamy, bread e.t.c but then here we go again! until i get into the fight my health is almost down to zero and instead trying to shoot people im running from body to body to find med kits!
is it maybe an item of my inventory like those weird rocks that you can hang on ur belt? is it propably that i have to many items on my inventory? i know that makes you tired, but can that bleed you to death?
right now im on the stage that i helped stalkers with the army, and im about to get underground, i think it is the second level!
what do you think it is?

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
My best guess is that you have an artifact that affects bleeding in some way. Ive heard the ones that reduce bleeding are bugged and actually increase bleeding. You could also be in a radiation zone and not even know it.

Yeah the artifacts that are supposed to be anti bleeding actually make you bleed like a hemophiliac on blood thinners.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
Anyone else have a hard time with the arena? Doesn't seem like you get very far before it gets near impossible. 4th or 5th round is 2 military guys and I can't even take down one of them.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
Possible Spoilers:
Game has highs and lows, but can get pretty intense. I remember seeing my first distorted silhouette in a dark basement room. Shoot first, ask questions later, cept I missed the head, and the distortion just zoomed around the screen scared the crap out of me. Finally I blasted it when it got close, but it managed to get a swipe on me.
A high/low point was the second mutated person I ran into in a really long hallway, heard something behind me, turned and way at the end saw this dude with a huge head slowly slide in there, all of a sudden It was one of the most creative and freaky scenes i've seen in a game, with vision zooming in and out and the crosseyed effect.... But, dissapointment was in the fact that, he just kept doing that, and it diddn't do anything to me really... I sat there for like a minute trying to figure out what his other move was, but it was just the nausea-inducing hallway zoom. Finding that there was no way in heck that I'd be able to shoot him with anything short of a shotgun from way down there, I just staggered up to him and blew his brains out... hardly a scratch on me, pretty unsatisfying in the end.
Does it get better? I can imagine it does, but I wanna hear for sure.
It was fun then, but, all of a sudden killing millitary typed people wasn't as fun.RAWGRLRLRLRRLGLRL!!!

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
There is a cheap way to get through the arena. When the round starts move to your right and there will be a stack of crates that you can jump up on. From there you have a pretty good view of the arena. You can try to pick them off from there. Personally I used the point to scout the area and find where my opponents were. Once I pinpointed their location I would try to move in for the easy kill. I like trying to be creative at first and then if that ultimately didn't work I would go with the long range firefight.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
Now that I installed the patch and deleted my saves, the FOV Hack that gives me true widescreen view doesn't work anymore. Pity that GSC didn't have time to completely implement the FOV advantage widescreen gives.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
The only two hard rounds in the arena were the two military guys and the one where you have to kill two guys with the shotgun. The rest, particularly the knife fight (grenade spam) and the final fight are very easy. Sadly i also found this to be true for the entire game. The first few hours are very difficult, and with the better guns/artifacts you get the easier the game gets.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
ok found the problem, i got rid of the artifacs, dont care for trading i stop bleeding.
oh that guy with the big head! i couldnt get a clear shoot on him so after the first zoom in zoom out move (very lame for him) i just walk out on him. it is a very difficult game.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.
Ya, I had a bit of a time trying to get rid of the shotgun guys, but nothing like these military guys. I've put the gun on semi auto mode. There is way less recoil and you can fire faster in semi auto than full auto, but it doesn't seem like anything is happening when I am firing. I've unloaded so many rounds into those guys.
Yes, I found that too. There's just too much spread on the effectiveness of the guns. The good ones are just way better than the bad ones. The starting guns are just terrible beyond reason and the later guns, I can take down just about anyone with a quick burst to the head. I was really hoping that 'Assisinate the Master Stalker' quest was going to be some kind of challenge rather than just walking up to the guy and killing him and his friends in about 4 seconds.Sadly i also found this to be true for the entire game. The first few hours are very difficult, and with the better guns/artifacts you get the easier the game gets.
What's with the Family Rifle quest? I can't find that thing. It directs me to a hut in the rail yard and I can't find a rifle anywhere around that area. The quest has been sitting in my PDA for a long time.
I'm jealous of the NPC's armour/suits. Many in the later part of the game have crazy suits with muscle enhancements and stuff. It sucks that even if you kill them, you can't take the suit. The Dirty
