Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.

Funny/pathetic thing happened in the beta today. There were about 6 of us playing DM, and one guy kept head shotting everyone with a pistol. He owned up to the fact that he was hacking, and we could hardly do anything about it. We tried to start a kick vote, but it didnt work. When i asked him why he wanted to ruin everyone else's fun, his reasoning was that he was testing it to give it to other people.

I swear i remember seeing something about vehicles. They could get you around alright, but apparently most of them are really low on fuel or something.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.

vehicles were in at one point but they had to do an overhaul halfway through development which is why it took so long. They took out driving and the ability for other stalkers to finish the game before you (you can imagine how fustrating that could be) and eating to stay alive. Apparently it came down to the "fun factor" of the game. Its a very abitious game and sometimes you can get over ambitious

As for the Stalker meaning, yea, aparently they wanted it to be a big secret for some reason and were being very secretive of it. Why? who knows...

And that picture is zoomed out ALL the way. I think you can zoom in at least 4 times and on the highest zoom you get about 50 meters around you. 30 square kilometers is definately a lot of running lol

And the last S apparently just mean the plural of the rest of em, meaning theres lots of em.

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.

In the urban fighting one the guy spotted someone in a balcony and actually said his exact location. I dont think it was scripted either.

It looks like good use of cover and not wasting ammunition is key to doing well. Basically, be smart and live, be stupid and die. Because of that i think im gonna play this on the hardest setting right out of the box.

Its not scripted. Actually even the quests are randomly generated depending on what you do and who is alive, etc. Cover is VERY important in big firefights and running out in the open is a good way to die or at least go through a lot of bandages and health kits. And every ammo box is precious, cuz if you run out, hope your knife skills are good

Ill be playing on the hardest setting as well...without crosshairs

Re: S.t.a.l.k.e.r.

Does anyone else think the weapon sounds sound awful? Maybe I'm just used to BF2 where it really feels like I'm firing that weapon.
