Point of Existence (PoE) mod available
There is a new mod out for BFV that I think many folks here might enjoy. It's called Point of Existence (PoE).

The mod is still in it's early stages, but it has quite a few features that I think many ppl will like.Point of Existance pits the Russian forces against the United States of America forces in a modern day warfare. The area of battle can range from flat deserts, to rolling grassy hills and even in the middle of deep forest. American Abram tanks slam into battle with Russian T-90's. BTR3's duke it out with American Bradleys in a fire fight for dominance. They skies are filled with choppers galore, from Commanches to Mi-28's.

I've installed and played ths PoE mod online. I think it definitely has potential. It's basically DC for the BFV engine. The mod itself is in better shape that DC was when it first was released. There are fewer bugs and lag issues. The maps / models still use some of the BFV renderings, but that is to be expected.

I downloaded the mod and played a bit of the instant-action missions, but I've had a lot of difficulty connecting to any of the multiplayer servers to check out how the game performs in that area.
I have BFV fully patched up, and PoE installed, but I keep getting "Can not connect to server" or "Map not found" errors. Is there some BFV map pack that has been released that's needed?
Diplomacy is the art of saying "good doggie" while looking for a bigger stick.

There has been a release of one or two more maps for PoE. You may have been trying to jump on a server that was running one of those maps at the time. I can't think of any other reason you'd be having problems. You might have flux's luck right now.

Well, I couldn't connect to any servers this evening. I kept getting "Version doesn't match" errors and "searching for updates" did nothing to fix it...

Yeah. I redownloaded and reinstalled POE and it finally worked. I didn't even get to play a whole round, though. I'll probably try it out sometime today or tonight. Originally Posted by asch

Also, don't forget to check for the latest maps. I usually read planetbattlefield and grab the latest from there.Today we would like to announce Build .1.1 Optimized. This patch addresses performance issues reported by the fans in our first release build. The Devs have been hard at work recoding and Debugging to give "you" the fans a clean and steady build. PoE now uses ContentChecking to reducing Client side modifications.

But thats not all. They have also added cosmetic touches.
-All vehicles now sport wrecks
-Ka52 is sporting a new cockpit
-Niffty Ammo Selection Lights
