Re: Planetside Veteran Roll Call!
So BF2 is setup like Planetside? Because yes thats the only reason I liked it so much. Being able to move around on such a large scale with so many differant vehicles if you choose to.

BF2 setup like Planetside? Not sure what you are asking there. Certainly the playing area in Planetside is larger but they are both FPS games and on a full BF2 server the feel of the games can be similar. Infantry, armor, air...it's all good.

BTW Sparhawk, I like your icon! I have an African Grey at home called Cosmo.

Yeah My grey is great. Anybody that has knowlodge of birds should get one. A real treat. I have 3 others and 2 of them are just as fun as the grey
The other is mellow
Yeah I liked the massive play of planetside and I miss that. So I might just turn it back on or find something with very very large groups of players besides a WOW fantasy type game. Been there and don't want to go there again till I retire from a job if you know what I mean
Too tuime consuming. I say this but might be doing it again soon
Sometimes gaming is crazy.
But I would like it also on a TG scale
That will be hard if at all possible I think.

Re: Planetside Veteran Roll Call!
I also was an old original beta baby of Planetside.... "Wrinkley Hero". My son still plays some and keeps the old account alive. We shared so my toon is still in a coma somewhere there.
What drove me away was every time they patched, they never addressed the real issues everybody was griping about and it seemed to lag worse with each patch. I came back for a short time after the BFR's came out....and was really turned off by them.
Been tempted to return, but havent. PoE owns my soul....lol

Re: Planetside Veteran Roll Call!
A lot of what I blamed them for was in fact my own rig being not up to the task.
It was, at first, when pops and battles were small. But the game caught on and soon the battlefield stretched off to the horizon and my cpu/gpu/pipe just weren't up to the challenge.
I enjoyed the game. Got repetitive. What's this I hear about PlanetSide 2?Last edited by WarProphet; 11-09-2009 at 10:17 PM.

Re: Planetside Veteran Roll Call!
To this day, I still think back to the great sessions of playing Planetside, and missing it alot. It was a great game to play with a squad...but what usually made me leave it was when I was squadless and couldn't find a competent one. Playing by yourself isn't nearly as fun, especially if you were a support-orientated character like myself.
One of my favorite memories was spearheading the assault of a base that my side had been attempting to take for an hour or something already....did an armor column of like 5 big tanks (I don't even remember what the big NC tanks were called anymore. >< ) and a couple of aircraft as overwatch...stormed in and shattered the resistance and clinched the initial penetration. I loved stuff like that and miss it alot.
Hi, by the way.
