I think I win this debate over mouse and keyboard vs the controller.

Yes but does it show who is using what to play? If not, boo!

Yeah well you've got to look at their gamercard, there is almost no vista players. All 360.

Does it come with the 1 month free Gold card like H2V?

I may be tempted to get it and then sell it 2nd hand to a friend if the cross-platform play is true PC domination.

Also, is the field of view more like a traditional PC FPS? (H2V was not changed from the original Xbox FoV.) In other words, does it feel like you're zoomed in and can't see much around you? Or is it more along the lines of BF or CS?

And finally, is the mouse acceleration a problem like in H2V? Turning around in that game will cause a jittery mess and make it impossible to accurately track foes moving around you quickly.

If these flaws aren't present, I'm tempted. Even for the one free month, I feel like I owe 360 gamers something special . Plus, I think it'd be fun for a couple of TGers to go in and show how PC gamers do things.

It comes with one free month as well. The mouse movement to me is more fluid, unlike Halo2Vista. The FOV I believe is a typical FPS FOV.

Wonder if katana movement is smoother for a PC Trackball user. I'm more accurate with my trackball then with a mouse, and I've always done superb in games with melee (read The Specialist).

Katanas are hard to use for me, I guess its the 3rd person view it gives you.

Windows players stomp the hell out of 360 players, it really ruins the game.

    I don't mind, really.

Interesting game so far. Teamwork and tactics are far more important than I expected. If the server setup was a bit more PC-friendly, it'd be a good fit for TG.

This game is simply fun. I'm not sure if it has the depth to keep me interested for a long period, as Battlefield can do, but it is certainly entertaining and easy to get into.

If anyone is interested in joining up with Undead/Aspie, look for us in-game. Our gamertags are listed on the Live leaderboard here at TG.

Re: Shadowrun PC Vista, or Xbox 360.

Why they didnt just make this an MMO is really beyond me. SR really had what I believed the absolute BEST formula already in place for a far superior MMO (especially the 4th edition). It would've been the tactical squad-based MMO to rule over all the others. (those who know SR feel me here)

There's a veritable laundry-list of content available for gaming use, and no.. we're not talking D&D type content (which is pretty much variations on the same old theme), but literally whole separate genres of playstyles to appease every type of person. Hell, the Matrix movies were largely based on SR.

You've got near limitless arrays of weaponry, modern street-magic types of spellcasting, pot-smoking shamans, blackmarkets for everything, netherworld communication, cybered up ninjas, virtual matrix gods, coorporate giants rules by dragons, joygirls, genetic alteration, political intrigue/subterfuge/espionage... the list goes on and on.

Why oh why isnt SR an MMO?????

I wouldn't be playing shadowrun if it was a MMO.

Re: Shadowrun PC Vista, or Xbox 360.

    WOW.. just WOW.

OK, I bit. Went down to WallyWorld and got Shadowrun today. I wanted it for the XBox360 - because I want more games for it but they didn't have it, so I checked out the PC version.. Vista only and multiprocessor ready with the X1900 or NVidia 7900 as a minimum intrigued me - so I bought it for PC.. WOW.. just WOW - did I say that already?

I just ran through a couple of training sessions and.. WOW.. oh yeah, I said that already.

Sure it isn't true to Shadowrun PnP.. but.. WOW.

The opportunities for tactics are fantastic. Talents, abilities, weapons, magic.. it's like a FPS World of Warcraft in a blender with Battlefield 2142 and Gears of War.

Of course to really enjoy it - the Microsoft LIVE option is necessary - but it sure is seamless, and honestly, I don't find Gold membership that expensive - I've had it for awhile with the XBox. M$ is definately putting together an online gaming system to contend with and it my even be as revolutionary as the early days of dialing up your friend with a modem and playing one-on-one in Duke Nukem.

And why isn't SR an MMO? Who says it won't be? You'll have to buy content of course through LIVE - but.. well, it'll still be equal to or less than players probably pay for WoW now. D&DO probably could have benefited a lot from this kind of release.

All I know (or realize right now) is that I am going to need to get a much more comfortable chair to keep playing.
