SourceForts: Our First stop in mods at TG

I've set up a source forts server located at 70.87.55.27.

It's setup with pretty much everything default. If you want to test out SourceForts with fellow TG members.

Check out the mod here

I figure we can let this run about a week or two.

Oh, sweet. This game is wicked fun, haven't played in awhile due to crappy server availability.

Re: SourceForts: Our First stop in mods at TG

I posted this request to the front page post, but I think it bears repeating here too...

Please, please, please can we password this server?

I'd rather play with 1 or 2 TGers than a server full of RTARDS.

Steam Group is up. Make good use of it, it is an excellent service that can pull us together rather fast if we use it right.

Re: SourceForts: Our First stop in mods at TG

Last evening, 8/9/2007, Some members of the 3rd SFD joined up on the server to check it out. Those people were WaffleHousChef, ReaperAssault, myself and Anospa.

Anospa and Reaper had played this before. Waffle and I were brand new. We had a lot of fun with the building and trying to figure out how to create defensive barriers and assaulting helpers. We made lots of mistakes, but it was fun!

What I realized very quickly was that there will need to be a SOP written up for this game mod, as well as some admin presence if it is to be embraced by the TG community. So here are some questions.

- Can friendly fire be turned on? Is there an option for taking damange for long falls?
- Is there any kind of server scripting capacity?
- Are there any admins for it currently? What does it take for one to volunteer to administrate it?
- Does TG want to potentially regulate this game like BF2/BF2142? We saw some pretty insane tactics for launching a person from long distance that would never be allowed in a BF2/BF2142 setting (sorry, that's the environment I'm currently immersed in).

Aye, "piece-flinging," (I think thats what the guy called it) can be real game-breaking. He showed me a few other tips/tricks that are interesting/possibly game-breaking.

Other than that, more people need to get on and play, its a great time and really dependent on teamwork.

Putting the password halfway down the thread is definitely NOT the brightest idea you've ever had!

I just spent a half hour looking at the first post in every Source mod thread ever created!
