Thumbs down BioShock: No widescreen support?

Seems like widescreen is supported by simply cutting off the top and the bottom of the fullscreen image. What's up with that??

Heh...good catch. Didn't see it. Is there anyone else who isn't a fan of such "omni-threads"? I find it's easier to locate information if it is broken into logical threads. Otherwise you end up trying to look through 20 pages of replies trying to find a piece of information.

It does not bother me, I've read the entire thread, and know where I last posted, and then read from there.

Which is fine except that I wouldn't have known about such a comment in that thread without reading the entire thread first...

Well, lets get the widescreen posts moved here then. Would be easier.

This is kinda frustrating, if they don't fix it soon, thats the only bad thing about single player only games, that patches never come soon enough, before your finished. I really want the correct FOV damnit.

nope...it just cuts off the top and bottom...refer to the link in the first post....it shows clearly what it is and what it should be.

This is an easy fix. The unreal engine supports changing the FOV. I'm sure there will be a patch out for it fairly quickly. I found that the compressed FOV in widescreen makes me motionsick after playing for more than 10 minutes, so a fix would be greatly appreciated...

    Re: BioShock: No widescreen support?

A hack was released that supposedly fixes the problem.

    http://dl.tocaedit.com/bioshockdFOV.zip

Reportedly not working on Vista 64bit (not sure about xp). Gonna give it a shot on xp32bit and ill give an update. The hack allows you to change the width and height of the FOV, so you may be able to get even better results then I show below, I haven't played with it.

EDIT: it work on my version (xp 32 bit, demo), results below. Use at your own risk though .

Yeah, works great I must say. I'll continue to use this too. So easy, and its on the fly, while in the game.

I think that should be "DX9 widscreen lovers rejoice!" Per the readme.txt:
