Unreal engine should be pretty easy to work with too.

Another note, the only bad thing about frontlines, is you cannot change your rate of fire like in BFx games. It's a feature left out for no reason.

as in you are in automatic all the time, you cannot switch to single fire

Correct, and the Pistol has no zoom feature, as far a iron sights go.

Re: Research into this frontlines game

Hey everyone. I am jumping aboard pretty late. This is the first time I've even heard of this game! Was it under the radar or am I just out of it? Anyway, is this going to be similar to 2142 or will it be an improvement? Will it be as good as COD4 but more tactical?

It is more similar to 2142 than COD4. You can't customize kits or unlock guns, you choose from different kit set ups (Assault, Heavy Assault, Close Quarters, Anti-tank, Sniper, Spec-Ops) and then you choose your role, which is a couple of additional weapons.

CoD4 was never that great, this seems like it'll be better.

Well you do really unlock weapons don't you? Going further down the speciality classes, as in the anti-infantry and armour turrets, coming from the glider thing.

You unlock newer "gadgets" for your chosen role, but they are earned mid round (like in Quake Wars) and only last until the map changes. So if you pick the Air Support role, you start out with the precision strike, then later unlock the scatter bombs, then the fuel bomb for example. You can use any of them as they are three separate additional weapons added to whatever weapon class (Assault, Sniper, Spec-ops, etc) you choose.

Re: Research into this frontlines game

As all the unlocks at tier 2 are earnt mid game, there is a step up in the number of bigger explosions and by the end of the game its mayhem. Another example is at the start of the game the chopper is powerful, mid game there's a few annoying emp missiles (tier 2 unlock) making you crash land, and end of game its just tough to keep the chopper alive

Re: Research into this frontlines game

For me the gunplay reminds me a lot of COD4, thats where the association comes from
However as Zoopy said there is not the rank up and customise lots of weapons of COD4

From the few times I've played COD4 online the game seemed to really pack the players into a small frontline

TTOW has the same notion of packing players onto a frontline but not always on the small infantry maps. The two maps in the beta have; one that is small and infantry only, like a COD4 affair and the second is open and vehicles. On this second one it feels open (ish) for infantry but compressed in for vehicles.
