Research into this frontlines game

I am going to use this thread to jot down things I find out about Frontlines: Fuel of War

================================================== ===
  • Its being released on the consoles and PC. Consule games are 32 players max and PC games are 62 players max. There is no cross platform server games.
  • There is going to be punkbuster for ranked servers. If there is recon access to ranked servers then there is a real possibility of using the BF2142 admin program (it uses punkbuster) in FFOW for SM slots and maybe even squadless kick <<<<< Apo & Panzer read this

Frontlines has 'spawn on squad leader' like BFx

• Last, but not least, the squad leader may be used as a mobile spawn point as long as

Great posts Silver, I think there is a ton of potential with this game. It has squads, weapon classes that are similar to the BF series and then adds on top of it "Roles". Here is a quick example of the Droid role within FFOW.

Re: Research into this frontlines game

The roles (in the previous post) determine the gadgets
The class determines the primary and secondary weapons
You can combine any class with any role

The Classes

Assault
Standard weapon loadout used by most of the grunts on the frontline. The Assault Class weapons include: Assault Rifle with Grenade Launcher Attachment, Pistol, and Frag Gernades.

Heavy Assault
When extra firepower is required, the heavy assault rifle sacrifices some accuracy for a higher rate of fire. The Heavy Assault class will contain a Heavy Assault Rifle, Pistol, and Frag Gernades.

Sniper
Silent but deadly, the sniper can take down infantry targets from miles away while keeping his hiding spot secured with proximity mines. The Sniper class will contain a Sniper Rifle, Pistol, and Proximity Mines.

Anti-Vehicle
The bane of armored vehicle operators, the AV can deploy land mines or lock onto a target with his rocket launcher and select the trajectory of his rocket to ensure maximum efficiency. The Anti-Vehicle class will contain a Rocket Launcher, Pistol, and Land Mines.

Special Ops
The highly versatile spec-op is effective at both short and long range, thanks to his scoped smg. His C4 charges can also be used to lay down deadly traps for his opponents. The Special Ops class will contain Sub-Machine Gun, Pistol, and C4.

Close Combat
Close quarter combat specialist, the close combat loadout is the most efficient at clearing and securing tight locations. The Close Combat class will contain a Shotgun, Pistol, and Frag Gernades.

There is no medic class, so no revives on squad mates or squad leader

They have an automatic self-heal in the game

There is no bar for health, if you are hit the screen goes red, hit more goes black & red, hit more then die. Once dead there is no revive, just respawn (redeploy in frontlines). In terms of how many bullets to die, its about the same as BF2142 or BF2 vanila. If you are hurting and you find cover from fire then the self heal automatically kicks in and takes about 5 seconds to return to normal screen colour ie no red or black, at that point you are back to full health

Re: Research into this frontlines game

Frontlines uses the unreal engine. The unreal engine supports demos (battlerecorder files in BFx). However upon release this is not enabled. It may be enabled in a future patch.

Re: Research into this frontlines game

Yep, good chance I could port the autoadmin program to Frontlines. It will not work out of the box but a few days of code grinding should do the trick.
