How in the name of god does the squad system work? I really can't work it out. It seems based on a request from me (potential SM) and SL approves or disapproves am I right?

The little copter things are fun but just not practical as killing devices. Good for spotting, the little remote control car is worse than useless really hard to use (does it even spot?). I don't personally find it's game play very like BF but in a squad using an SL as a spawn may be different. Is the bot with the machine gun strapped on top a third level unlock up from the exploding heli?

As far as maps go I can't play the vehicle one I just die didn't get one kill from 10 or so deaths. The infantry map is nice and I can play that. I really like the subway (for Silver and me)/ tunnel for most other people. Is there anywhere which list all kits and add-on things and their uses?

Sorry for lack of structure and ramblyness of the post
Squadleader can invite people or anyone can request to be in the squad in which the Squadleader can accept/reject.

The Recon drone is meant for just that, reconnaissance. It being used as a weapon is secondary, thus not really efficient (except for maybe killing Snipers).

I 'think' its 5, including squad leader
I will find out
There will be squad VOIP in the beta but will be in release version
Time to redeployment (respawn) is 8-10 secs, like BF2 vanilla / 2142
I checked its 4 in a squad including squad leader

I believe the commo rose system is still disabled in the beta, they should be offering it soon. Also there are ammo refill stations around certain areas.

There are ammo crates around just about every flag. You can destroy some of them. I don't know if they respawn after an ammount of time.

How are SL orders issued and how are they seen by the squad?

SL gives the orders currently by using the commo rose. Squad members see it floating on their screen. Orders consist of Attack here, Defend Here or Regroup Here. Currently, you cannot set an order using the minimap, however that may change as there are many beta testers who have asked for this ability.

Re: What's same/different relative to BFx?

yep you set them with line of sight and commo rose
you dont se them on mini map or main map
squad members then see super imposed on the battlefield a green market with a distance in metres

squad names on the left, white = alive, grey = using drone, black = dead
squad menu

marker is green with distance (attack marker in this case)
bottom centre is order command to squad

Nice! I like the look of that minimap - seems like a somewhat plausible, near-future, battle-net type readout.

What's CP capping like? Same as BFx.. stand in the zone?

Are there flags? (I assume the yellow 92m thing is the CP?)

Re: What's same/different relative to BFx?

Frontlines are denoted by Flags that are in a line. Capture the flags, move the frontlines and you do this by standing next to them. In the beta, we have seen anywhere up to 4 flags in play (2 of yours, 2 of theirs) but in a couple of the videos we have seen up to 6 (3 and 3) although I am not sure if this is in the game or not. The flags are noted on your HUD by those yellow circles.

Re: What's same/different relative to BFx?

to add to what lucky said
example;
enemy holds flag
you are in capping range (about 9m radius)
bar goes down, it is still theirs and thay can spawn in
bar goes to bottom and the flag goes neutral, neither side cannot spawn on it
bar goes up in your direction when its complete you have the flag and your team can spawn on it
depending on the other flags the frontline may move forward

EDIT
side note
your squad can spawn into empty seats in the vehicle your in
you cannot set waypoints when you gun is scoped (at least in the beta)

Re: What's same/different relative to BFx?

There are the occasional control point where you have to access a computer terminal to capture it. One player has to sit on the terminal holding down the button while everyone else has to cover him/her.

There's a point like this on Oil Field and there was one on the closed Beta map (can't recall the name, the more urban one).

Re: What's same/different relative to BFx?

true, and also on oil theres a third type where you have to plant an explsive and run away. It takes 10 secs to plant it and any ket/role can do it

Re: What's same/different relative to BFx?

Are rocket weapons easily used against infantry?

Is friendly-fire on most servers atm?

Can your own weapons harm you if you are too close to the blast?

Will there be lots of rocket-infantry running around blasting you in the face and running away unscathed?

Do you take significant damage from falling from buildings?

Is there any penalty to weapon accuracy when you jump around? (Will their be a lot of bunny-hoppers?)

Rocket Weapons easily used against infantry? Somewhere in the middle where it's not incredibly easy as the rockets are not guided and don't have a tremendous splash damange.

Is FF on most servers? It was on the couple servers I played on but not sure what the implication is for when the game is released as opposed to the beta now.

Can your own weapons hurt you if your too close? Grenades, C4 and rockets to the feet, yes.

Rocket Infantry? Perhaps you will see some but I don't think it will be a big issue. The guns are fairly effective whereas the AT rockets are not ideal against infantry.

Do you take significant damage from falling from tall buildings? Yes, and your chute will only activate if you walk off a building and if the building is over 30(?) feet in height.

Bunnyhopping? On the beta servers, quite a bit. I don't imagine this will be an issue on the TG server though. Yes, you do suffer from a nasty drop in accuracy while jumping.

While following any of the instructions from your leader is optional, there's no doubt there's a tactical advantage to doing so.
benefits of shared radar caught my attention, sounds like netbat in 2142, although from what I have seen you get the FFOW red triangle on enemies considerably more when in a squad, but not the info on class, health etc that you get with 2142 netbat
