Unhappy FF off Claymores?

from: http://www.frontlineswar.com/?page=weapons
Quote:
APM15 Anti-Personnel Landmine:
  • The APM is the standard anti-personnel landmine of Western Coalition forces. It is a proximity mine, meaning it will activate if personnel come close to it (a combatant does not need to actually step onto it). However, it will not activate if Wester Coalition troops approach it, since it can read basic IFF (identify, friend-or-foe) systems carried by all WC troops in their standard body armor. The APM55 is a bounding mine: when activated a subcharge will blow the mine upwards where, at waist level, it will detonate and scatter high-velocity fragments over a wide area. This mine also has an anti-handling device. If encountered by engineers, they will blow it in place rather than try to defuse it.
I hope this can be disabled... nothing worse than claymore spam.

Hasn't really been a big problem in 2142. At least we can hope they limit the number that can be deployed at one time to 2.

Oh really? Ok good (I thought 2142 had FF on for everything...)

Re: FF off Claymores?

2142 has FF on for everything except for APMs (Claymores) and anti-vehicle mines.

There are no issues with APM spam. Now, there might be quite a few more mines scattered around, but it's not a big deal really.

Re: FF off Claymores?

Do we know if the anti-vehicle mines detonate on friendly vehicles? I haven't played enough to notice and I'm doing a little catch up

"I proceeded to burn him alive by saturating his clothing and his face with benzene and igniting it with a match. So horrible was this torture that in writing of it I have been tempted to attribute his death to some humane means-not with a wish to spare myself, but because I fear that it will not be believed that one could be so heartless and depraved."

Re: FF off Claymores?

The AV mines are like 2142. They do not detonate on friendly vehicles.

Re: FF off Claymores?

I really hope they limit the amount that can be spammed. The limit in 2142 is what keeps it from being a problem.

Re: FF off Claymores?

That should be easy to test. I'll dump my mines on the ground, go get resupplied and then dump those and see how many (if any) of the original mines remain.

Like you said, hopefully they limit the amount any one play can have out at one time.

I think this is do to the fact that all beta servers are FF=off. I have killed a friendly tank with a mine in the earlier beta (but that may be due to an explosion setting the mine off).

Then i guess we'll have to put this in the "to be found out" thread until we have the ability to control the server setup and test it for ourselves.
