Re: Get your newbie questions answered here

Maybe this is a very dumb question but forgive me for asking:

I know that there is no VOIP support in Frontlines yet, but how do you give voice commands like "Get in" "Need repairs" etc? Because i know teamplay is very low on public servers but without voice commands it's even worse.

Noob questions:

1. How effective is the 'stealth' cover you get from level 1 EMP Tech? Does it make you virtually invisible? or just smudged/camoflaged? Does it improve if you stay still or fire?

2. On the TG server, will it be legitimate to shoot infantry with the anti-vehicle rocket?

3. Can landmines be triggered by infantry?

1) The stealth means you will not show up on the enemies minimap ever. You cannot be spotted by recon drones and an enemy SL cannot mark you with an attack order. You are still seen by plain sight though.

2) Yes. The AV rocket has such small splash damage that only a virtual direct hit kills someone. Of course using it point blank and getting yourself killed in the process is prohibited under our "No Suicide Tactics" rule.

3) No. I do not believe so.

Re: Get your newbie questions answered here

To expand on #1 - recon drones automatically "spot" Opfor units - Enemies have a red triangle around them in their first-person view and a red dot on the minimap. If you're EMP, you don't get the triangle on you and you don't show up on the minimap. You're not "invisible" to the naked eye... just undetectable to drones.

Re: Get your newbie questions answered here

Hey thanks for the replies everyone. I've been using landmines against infantry now, I think they have to walk right over the middle of the mine to activate it and they are easily blown up by anything that explodes.

Another newb question:
"Is the time taken to regenerate a 'power' eg precision bomb, fuel bomb etc purely based on time alive, or can you accelerate the timer by kills and flag caps etc? If you die, does the regeneration timer stop? "

Re: Get your newbie questions answered here

Question:

In the Western Alliance APC the second player (crew station II) can fire rockets with LMB and use the "active defense countermeasures" with RMB.

But in the Redstar APC the second player cannot shoot rockets but on the frontlines homepage it clearly says that crew station II can fire a 150mm laser guided missile.

But ingame i can't do squat when i am in crewstation II, do i missed something or am i doing something wrong?

No, you're not doing anything wrong. The description for the Cossack is wrong.
