The Drones of FFOW vs 2142
In 2142, the drones are Ai-automated and do not need to have some stupid driving mode to control them. They did not dominate the battlefield but they were extreme useful and could do many things( recon, corridor defense, 360 defense)
Now, in FFOW, what we have here is an expanded version of these drones except they are nothing more than glorifed matchcars that explode viciously in your face every 5 seconds in a round.

Cheese has served as a hedge against famine and is a good travel food. It is valuable for its portability, long life, and high content of fat, protein, calcium, and phosphorus. Cheese is a more compact form of nutrition and has a longer shelf life than the milk from which it is made. Cheesemakers can place themselves near the center of a dairy region and benefit from fresher milk, lower milk prices, and lower shipping costs. The substantial storage life of cheese lets a cheesemaker sell when prices are high or when money is needed.

Re: The Drones of FFOW vs 2142
lol.
Its a different game. 2142 doesn't really consider drones to be a significant part of the game mechanic. In FFOW the drones can play a big role. However, if your squad is equipped correctly, with an emp tech, you can stop those drones in their tracks. The emp stick can also stop air support. In 2142 you have no way to stop the drones other than destorying them. It is really about balanced in FFOW, you have the drones and air suppport, but one emp stick can protect your squad from both.

You see these complaints a lot, but the real problem is not hte drones, but lack of EMP guys on your team. 1 EMP guy and neutralize and spot countless drones.

Yeah I replayed again today, and despite running at very low with at most 24 fps. It's a very good game but it can't beat the Battlefield series. Battlefield 3 is going to have battalions comon that is the next-generation of teamwork.

Where have u seen info on BF3?? I've been wondering what they're gonna do next.
I'm really hoping FFoW is as good as it seems. I need another game with some good strategic depth.

Battlefield 3 has not been announced by EA or DICE. What SiethJedi is referring to is a "leaked promo sheet" but it is most definitely fake. Since EA/DICE are working on Bad Company and Battlefield Heroes it is unlikely Battlefield 3 will come out before 2010.

Re: The Drones of FFOW vs 2142
When I play street, my K ratio goes down a hwhole heck of a lot. Why? Becasue I consider myself a drone hunter. I get enough kills and caps to get my lvl 3 EMP rocket (360 demo) and then just work on taking out drones at every chance I get. It's amazing how just having 1 proactive drone hunter makes for easier capping of flags.
Your team no longer needs to worry about suicide drones becasue of you and your emp stick/emp rocket combo. Then it's just a regular FPS for your team instead of a FPS with drones/ airstrikes/remote turrets.
On the other hand, make sure you take out enemy EMP sticks with either a nade or by melee!

Yeah, I'm also almost always EMP on streets these days! There's a sinister joy in ruining the day of the drone-tech and air-strike guys

Re: The Drones of FFOW vs 2142
I saw that used very effectively last night to give the losing team a chance to fight back. The other team systematically placed EMPs on routes leading out of their last CP to protect against the spam of airstrikes in the 3rd and 4th rounds. They would also place them at new CPs they were turning to protect the effort. We had several people with fully charged air power with no real (effective) place to put it.
