Re: VOIP delayed - will be in post-release patch
I don't know when the patch will come out, but I think we should all probably plan on at least 4 weeks before we get anything. The PC demo comes out March 11. If it's not in there for the demo, I'd guess it'll be a couple of weeks after that? Anyway, regardless of how long it takes, we're all about to get real familiar with TeamSpeak

Ok, so here's what we've come up with. Take a look. Ask questions. Offer suggestions. We're working on SOPs for this, and we'll put together a formal how-to in a few days... see if we can improve what we've got here.
The basic idea is simple - separate channels for WC and RSA, with sub-channels for each squad:

The trick is moving yourself around and using teamspeak. To make this as easy as possible for everyone, we've created a standard keybind-set that we can all use. This keybind-set uses Scroll-lock in conjunction with other keys to do everything:
To get this functionality,
ScrLck + WC = switch to WC channel
ScrLck + RS = switch to RSA channel
ScrLck + 1 = squad 1
ScrLck + 2 = squad 2
ScrLck + 3 = squad 3
ScrLck + 4 = squad 4
ScrLck + 5 = squad 5
ScrLck + ↑ = increase TS volume 10%
ScrLck + ↓ = decrease TS volume 10%
ScrLck + ← = toggle TS volume muting
ScrLck + → = toggle TS microphone muting
1) Download the keybind-set here: FFoW_keybinds_01.kbn
2) To import those settings you have to edit your Key Settings:

That brings up this window - it may be mostly empty for you if you haven't played with TS much. (Shown here is what it looks like after you import the keybinds)

3) Importing will overwrite your current key settings, so consider saving them if you've got something customized to your liking. To do this, just click "Export".
4) To import the settings you downloaded in step 1, click the secret button, and point it at the .KBN file.
That's it, you're done!
We edited the channel description to include instructions:

We're looking at ways of automating this with batch-files and other means... if you have any suggestions, let us know!!

Re: VOIP delayed - will be in post-release patch
oh - forgot to mention... we'll also be using channel commander for SL-to-SL communications... but I've gotta go pass-out, so someone else can explain that if I don't get to it tomorrow

Sounds like a good plan.

Re: VOIP delayed - will be in post-release patch
It will help most of you to print out a cheatsheet so in the heat of the moment you dont have to wonder if you just switched to the right channel or not. If you have a programable keyboard like the g11 or g15 you can set this up on your programable keys.
The main thing is to use TS appropriately. In most other TG games, TS is a social gathering spot where we all talk about how much fun the last round was while the next map is loading or contact an admin for help requests.
Think of the FFoW teamspeak channel as an extension of the game. Get used to using it to communicate game related info with your squad. For those bf vets in the crowd this will be second nature. For others, this will take practice.

Re: VOIP delayed - will be in post-release patch
they imported fine for me. however i have a G-15 keyboard with the macro keys and i've never been able to get any TS key binds to work for it. anyone else have one and have them work? if so how did you do it? I know its easy to make the macro they just dont seem to work for me

Re: VOIP delayed - will be in post-release patch
seems it might be easier to remember <ScrLck-WC> than it would be to remember which macro-button you assigned to switch to Western Coalition channel

also - once you import, you can edit the binds.... so for example, if you don't like using scroll-lock, you can use <ctrl> or <shift> or anything else....

Nice work there Whiskey!
For the initiated Teamspeak Overlay will also come in handy on displaying the channel you're in, with the caveat that TSO and xfire don't get on.
