FFoW TGU classes?

Hi all,

Finally got my copy installed properly and have been playing the SP.
So far, I really like what I see, but I don't have much to compare it too.

A little background on me. I had not played a computer game for about 15 years then COD4 came out and I got that and into gaming. I found the TG site and was hooked. So, I have been playing COD4 for about two months. Before that it was the original Castle Wolfenstein

I was thinking of trying BF2, but before I got around to it FFoW came out.

So, my question is: do you think there will be some sort of TGU classes for basic infantry and such for FFoW for complete noobs like myslef?

I would feel more than a little intimidated joining all you seasoned veterans on the TG server when it is up. From what I can see, this is nothing like COD4, in that there is so much more to learn. With kit load outs, vehicles, squads, etc.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, think maybe this should have went under the TGU forum, but I am looking for something geared specifically for FFoW

Thanks

There is a very strong possibility there will be FFOW TGU specific classes. Many of us are still learning the game given it has just been released and not all of us played the beta. TGU is often more formal in its training.

TGU will probably take a few weeks to get off the ground. In the meantime take advantage of TG hospitality and ask someone for help. Think of anyone that is TG tagged and playing FFOW as an ambassador for FFOW @ TG.

All you need to do is ask for some help. I am pretty sure most of us could give you a basic walkthrough of the game and how it is played. Once you get the basics, learning by playing is lots of fun and a great way to make friends among us TG folk.

Wondering how you ask for help? Get on TS and look around in the TS FFOW channels for some people. Also, feel free to hit me up on xfire and see if I have a few mins to walk you through the basics.

The number one thing here is to realize that regardless of skill and time at TG, we are all here to support eachother as members of this community. Do not be intimadated by any of us. With the exception of Exploding Silver we are all very nice (Exploding silver is ridiculously nice - to the point of absurdity).

Yh, I don't think it can be taught yet since it's pretty new. Can't teach it if you don't really know it. IMHO I think that they will end up starting in a few months.

Re: FFoW TGU classes?

Thanks guys.

I will keep practicing for now playing SP.

Do the TGers have any good public servers they play on frequently, so I can try MP?

Thanks

Beaker,

If you haven't already, get Teakspeak setup and hop into the Frontlines channels. Those of us that are on will be glad to tell you where we're playing and help out.

Get into teamspeak, the best way to learn is just to jump in with a bunch of TGer's and pick up tips as you go.

If you need any help with getting your TS up and running, do not hesitate to ask.

Re: FFoW TGU classes?

TGU will accept any active member that will design and run training courses for any TG sponcered game. TGU has a a decent amount of information to base a basic course. Most basic courses can be trained cross game platforms with very little redesign. Just need someone who knows FFoW and willing to put in some extra time to run the course.

Re: FFoW TGU classes?

Playing the single player game would help.

I am still amazed when I run up to a computer terminal or AA missile battery and see people hiding in radius waiting to decamp the flag.

I am also still amazed when I see people attacking an invulnerable point.

The single player game teaches you all of this. Play it on "casual" and you'll be through it in a couple of hours.
