    Ranged Grenade Launcher

From the p.Vicious and SirShotAlot training school: "How to fire ranged grenades in Frontlines!"

For those of you who are learning how to use the weapons in FFoW:

There are two options for launching grenades when using the Assault kit. There is the "detonate on impact" by using the left mouse button and the detonate "on distance" mode using the ranged grenade launcher.

The ranged grenade launcher can be used in the Assault kit by holding down the right mouse button. The longer you hold the right mouse button, the farther the grenade will fly before detonating.

The aiming reticule looks like this:

When you hold down the mouse button you can choose anything from 25 to 125 meter flight prior to detonation. A quick tap will send the grenade 25 m. Holding down the right mouse button charges the grenade and sets the flight distance. Holding until the "distance bar" reaches the first gradation on the reticule will send the grenade 50 m. Careful! The grenades will bounce before exploding!

The lines correspond to 50, 75, 100, and 125 (the top of the gauge).

Thanks to p.Vicious for being the training "volunteer" while we worked this out!

    SSA out.

    Re: Ranged Grenade Launcher

Good post! I had my first bounce grenade kill on Roundabout. I was fighting a guy near the middle castle structure and we had both injured each other with bullets. There was also an auto-turrett set near the corner as well. I ducked into the 1st floor, but didn't go up the stairs. I did a quick switch to the nade launcher and banked a shot around the corner. Blew up him and the auto turret at the same time.

I've been trying to use this more effectivly in smaller maps as of late. Seems to work well. That and spamming all 4 nades works like a charm in close combat where nobody has the advantage in position.

Use a banked nade to hit him around the corner that he's hiding to heal.

I also noticed that the grenade tends to fly with more force when you right click, it doesn't have as much arc as a regular one.

Mac is right, there is more force going into this secondary fire mode than the primary so there is little or no arc.

I'll find this info to be helpful when the SL gives an attack marker on an enemy, this will make the shot more precise.

And I hope to see the Grenade Launcher put to good use in a tactical way instead of seeing people running around with it in hand ready to shot at just one soldier. I quickly saw Gnaw and Street become a noob fest on the KAOS servers, do not wish to see the same on our server.
