New Server
As of Wednesday, March 11, we have a new server up and running that should stay permanently listed in the server-browser!! Server settings are listed in this thread - please give your feedback!
Also - please make an effort to seed the server. Now that it's publicly listed, it should fill up quickly!! edit: Forgot to mention that we're hoping to get reserved slots implemented for Supporting Members "soon". More details to follow, but in the mean-time, if you need a slot on the server, just ask in TS and the admin team is happy to open a slot for you!! |

Re: New Server
Lets hope this brings life to FFOW. I am considering selling my copy, but I'll give it a week and a half before I make a decision.

Re: New Server
Thanks for getting this up and going guys! I know we were planning on waiting for the official dedicated server release but it's good to get the TG name out there in the server browser in the meantime.
Catman and I helped seed mid-evening and we quickly rose to 20+ players so it's catching on. Played with a couple of people new to TG and they were impressed and it sounded like they would be frequenting our server now.

Re: New Server
Hi Whiskey
I don't know if it was you that set up the TG server - do you think you're open to suggestions on it? Having played with Rock and a few other TG guys it seems Grenade launchers are the bane of everyones life. Hell even I use them and they are becoming old very quickly with there 1 hit kills at point blank range. Is it possible to turn off the Grenade launchers in server settings? It's a bugger - but the 'noob tube' as we've come to call it is ruining games at times. of course I realise that a lot of others may like the GL - Just my 2 pence worth. Skimbo |

I agree with him, it spoils the game I think when your on Streets or Gnaw and your mostly getting killed via a "Noob Tube", some as far away as a sniper could be. I don't hold out much hope but it is a could thought. |

Re: New Server
Was part of the crew playing last night with Rock and Skimbo and noob toobs make for poor gameplay. I wish more games would go with gas instead, but at the very least there should be a decent size minimum arming distance on any nade launcher. At least gas would provide for superior tactical options. Is it possible to disable a class in server settings or is that a mod?

Re: New Server
I don't think you can just eliminate the grenade launcher and keep the assault rifle. Like Digital Assasin said it'll mean no assault class to rid a server of the dreaded 'noob tube'.
Having said that would the assault class be a big a loss if its not on the server? The assault rifle is only a louder version of the Spec Ops gun (check frontlines.com and look at the stats for the weapons if you don't beleive me). What does it actually bring to a server other than the ability to annoy everyone? More to the point is the assault class even worth keeping in the actual retail game? The thin line seperating it from the spec ops/heavy assult class is its grenade launcher and thats it! In reality there doesn't seem to be that much of a difference betwen the classes when you weigh them up. What do you guys think? Skimbo |

Re: New Server
I run my server (<removed external advertising>) with the assault class disabled. It totally changes the gameplay for the better and attracts a more skilled group of players. I'll turn it back on once they nerf it, but until then, noobtube free zone it is lol
