this one goes back in the box. atm its wasting space on my hard drive.
it didn't take long for people to cheat and imo its not even remotely fun when folks set up crap on a cap they have no ability to obtain.
its got potential but for now its not wasting any more of my time.

Re: Stick a fork in it?
COD4 is fun enough but I max ranked (skipped the presige option) and went back to 2142where I max ranked a long time ago but dont care because I am now playing for fun. COD4 is fun but the maps are a little bit too small and the game pace a little to frenetic. If you like close and fast, COD4 will suite you fine.

Re: Stick a fork in it?
I was really hoping for this to be a success, I heard about this aaages before it was released, and had been anticipating it since before I even joined TG. Finding it out it would be supported by TG was a great prospect, and I was planning to get this in the Summer...maybe the problem's will be fixed by then and especially the VoIP, but if it isn't, I might have to pass on this experience that I was really psyched for.

Re: Stick a fork in it?
Yh, I'm waiting for the Summer to come around because I'll be able to get my rig then, and certain things will be out of the way so I can start playing these online games again. Right now I'm only playing 2142 with TG, but I was planning on also getting C0D4, ArmA, and I was also looking at Frontlines (as well as Crysis if the Obsidian Edge mod gets released, but I'll probably get it anyway just to play through the SP because it sounds like quite an experience).

Re: Stick a fork in it?
I think they will put VoIP eventually, because it is part of the engine, and they said in quite a few interviews that VoIP is a priority of theirs. It seems it's not much of a priority at the moment though, which is the problem, they seem to be fixing other issues like the bugs and imbalance that I've heard so much about.

Re: Stick a fork in it?
That s kind of the whole issue... VOIP is in the engine. Why is it not in the game?

Re: Stick a fork in it?
Well, one thing I learned from FFOW is to trust previews a bit more, especially the ones that mention negative features about the release. I actually pre-ordered then cancelled then impulsively pre-ordered it again because I really wanted a new FPS team game to play to death... played to death (by frustration) within 15 hours basically because of all the obvious things like no voip, lack of local/dedicated servers, hackers, lag and all that.
Patching those things up after release (especially 2 months+ post-release and still no fix) is too little too late to save this game from oblivion. If it had been released 6-12 months later working smoothly it could have been a popular PC game! Game publishers. Waiting for Age of Conan now... learnt my lesson, will wait for a few weeks post-release to see the reviews.
