o Set various map rotations
o Watch or chat messages
o Restart and stop the dedicated server remotely
o Send any server commands through the console

Still no VOIP or even mention of it. This patch does pave the way for the new maps.

no voip in change log, shame

I was thinking the other day how the frontlines gamemode would have been great with SL-SL comms, lately SL-SL comms has been used in 2142, in frontlines mode, squad co-ordination would have been essential and awesome even !

Please tell me if it's worth reinstalling. Last time i played the gun accuracy was ridicoulus and the grenade launcher not in balance with everything else.

VOIP still missing though, wow

I just installed the 1.2.0 patch and am impressed with the new map and auto shottie. I have to agree with everyone else that no VoIP or any teamwork tools is very disappointing.

I did have one relatively minor issue of not being able to change my player name. I could use my keyboard to edit my controls and chat in game, but not to change my player name. After talking with THQ's support staff, they suggested the ages old fix for PC users: Re-download the game and patches and install in selective start-up mode with almost all services turned off. I didn't want to go through the pain of that, so I turned to the KAOS community forums. Someone suggested I type my name into notepad and copy/paste into the game. Worked for me.

So, does anyone play this anymore? Is there a TG server for us to play on? Currently, most of the servers I see with players on are European servers with relatively high pings.

I had the same thing happen. It seemed to finally work when I first opened the game before I did the browser search. When I tried to change during a game it would just revert back to the default.

Yeah we've discussed this before. This game didn't even seem like a beta when it was released. But maybe they've fixed it up ok now?

FWIW... the game play is still great. The engine seems to run a smidge better, although that could be new Nvidia drivers as well. But, it is fun and is still full of potential. I have not given up.... I have resigned myself to the possibility that it will never live up to it's potential.

I know that Kaos did not want to make just another BF clone... but if they did, it would have worked out much better for them. Pitty.
