Very nice new maps. I mean every nasty thing I've said about this game, but I still love it. Hindsight map is amazing. It's a shame that everyone has been spoiled by built in voip. I know the developers have soured this release and it was half baked and everything but it's still a very fun game.

I agree with you that there is a lot of "fun factor" to this game. My steam is updating with the new patch. I will look for you out there in the next few days. I always enjoy new maps.

There are usually only 2 servers more then half full so it's not hard to find me. The 21st SS has a good one, however they aren't playing all the new maps.

3 patches in 11 months and they still haven't fixed this game.

New maps instead of VOIP?

New weapon instead of fixing the GL?

Invisible walls? Floating prone? Clipping?

Total let down.

VOIP is dead... deal with it. If it were fixable under the circumstances that surround this title, it would have been.

Somebody in a high place must like the GL just as it is or we'd have seen this change.

I have not played nearly enough to see these flaws but they sound just like the same flaws we have dealt with in countless other titles

The total let down is that there is nobody playing. FFOW is the best game that never was, unfortunately.

I agree, but I believe it has more to do with consoles than anything. The Xbox 360 demo is the reason I bought it on PC because the PC demo had more flaws than it does now and the 360 demo had them all fixed so I assumed they would be fixed in the PC release. At the time I played more PC games and wanted to join larger servers, but if I had to do it again I'd go 360 take smaller servers and a functional game with VOIP, etc. I find myself choosing console over PC on most every game that comes out. Originally it was just the sports games on console for me, but the lack of loading and install issues coupled with an easily accessible group of players has made a huge impact.

So is it worth the price? I was looking forward to this game and even had the demo. But once I read the reviews in this forum I backed off. VOIP not a big issue, why we have TS. Otherwise lemme know.

There are not enough people to get any good squad play going. I've been having a good time playing solo flying helos.

IMO, the game has great "fun factor" with lots of vehicles, cool gadgets and interesting roles you can play. The new maps on the most recent update are interesting too. I found that if you were good with BF2 skills and tactics, this game would be a natural.

VOIP is not a big problem if you have a group of guys you can get together on TS. You can have fun. We did that for a while. The problem comes in when you are trying to run a large scale server where new people are coming in and out who have not, or may not care to, set up access to our TS. Whiskey set up some great key-binds for us but even that became difficult because changing around teams and getting people organized in TS became a distraction. We really wanted to to have a premier server here, but the lack of VOIP has become the pink elephant in the room we cannot get around to have the TG style of play we desire.

We want squad based play and not lone wolfing and that is what you will find yourself doing when you play. With that said, the game is still fun and I do not know what the price is now, but if you can get it cheap it would be worth a go. I will bet you could find lots of deals on ebay. Tell you what. If my little brother is not playing anymore, I may be able to get you a copy.

What a shame about this game..it is amazing that they are still even writing patches for it..

They should send us money back..it was by far the biggest disappointment of any game so far to me personally.

I've never played FFOW, but for me this title belongs to Crysis

Every time I get ready to try out FFOW I read a thread like this or check the server lists and instead do something that seems more productive and fun...like dig my thumbs into my eyes.

Probably both for me. No VOIP just isn't fun and yea, I dealt with it, I uninstalled the game and put it on the shelf. Game play was unbalanced, if you choose anything other than that sub machine gun you would be switching back soon. You could snipe across the map with that gun. Don't know if they ever fixed it, but this game was big disappointment. If you guys are saying the servers are empty, well then it was a big disappointment to a lot of people and they "dealt with it" the same way I did, uninstall and shelf it.
