FFoW keybind "pack" took out my TS

last night, i imported the FFoW keybind "pack" and it simply destroyed my TS..

i could hear everyone fine, and they could "see" that i was trying to speak, but it did not come thru, no noise, nothing..

I went into my GUI for the soundcard and saw that somehow all of my settings for the "recording" and "playback" device was all, for lack of a better term, "defaulted" maybe is how i should put it?

I had to really do a LOT of tweaking on my game box to get TS and all of my in-game chats to work at the same time...

i put everything back to rights, but had to get rid of the keybind thingy to get TS work work again normally...

can anyone think of something that might have cause this to happen?

i am wracking my poor little brain, but coming up empty...

Re: FFoW keybind "pack" took out my TS

I had a thought just now that maybe somewhere between me removing the beta and then installing the retail that it made some changes to my "stuff"..?

i have several computers outputs/inputs running to outboard firewire mixers because of my recording setup for my guitars and keyboards, so i have a real weird setup anyways, but it has never done "this" before if you get what i mean...

i also did not think to reboot without making any changes first..and also did not go back into FFoW after i did get TS working, as i went and played a while on the CoD4 servers afterwards..

tonite i will boot up and make sure TS works first, then go into FFoW and see if that does anything...if it all still works, i will reboot and try it again..

could have been a one-time glitch i suppose form the installation...

Re: FFoW keybind "pack" took out my TS

I tried last night, but as soon as the game started i lost all my sound...

uninstalled and got bored waiting so i played CoD4 till time to go to bed..

will see tonite what happens....i do not think that the TS binds had anything at all whatsoever to do with this issue..i am sure it is my kind of weird setup causing this..

i am going to setup and turn on all my firewire mixers and see what is set to record what and where, and what happens when they are off..the game may default to what was listed when first installed..

anyways..more later

Re: FFoW keybind "pack" took out my TS

nope..mine is just normally using the built-on realtek ac97 stuff..but is complicated by the fact that my firewire outboard recording gear is also listed in the "pick what to playback with" and "pick what to record with" drop down menus in the setups for "Sound Devices"

so i think that the game is somehow selecting whatever is "at the top of the list" so to speak...

i was toying with the idea of re-installing the audio drivers to see if that put the on-board stuff at the top of that list..maybe then it would work?

probably just waiting till i get the other machine built..will be E6600 most likely with ABIT P-35 board with 4 gigz RAM and RAID drives...am trying to figure out how to come up witht he extra scratch to afford it right now..
