defrag your harddrive after install and patch
I was having some problems with stuttering framerates at times after I installed the patch. A reinstall helped, but not as much as I was hoping.
I complete hard drive defrag really helped quite a bit. This is a huge install (11-12 gigs) and it needs to be sorted after you slap it on your hard drive.

good call sc1ence, I notice the increased stuttering also. I'll defrag and report back.

That's pretty much true of any modern multi-gigabyte game. I need to remember to defrag my development machine at the office. It slows down over time, even though NTFS is supposed to be a lot more immune to fragmentation than FAT.
