Kaos has released a hotfix for Vista/SecuROM issues:
We've released a hotfix for the following issues:
* SecuROM issue with emulation software which will not allow the game to load.
* Possible fix for Vista crash related to certain sound cards.
NOTE: Patch 1.0.1 MUST be installed before installing this hotfix

I just built a brand new PC two days ago. The only software on it is XP, Steam, TF2, COD4, BF2142, and FFOW. No emulators; but this secure rom thingy says I am running emulators and wont let me play the game.
My old PC has emulators and it never ONCE complained about it. What a kick in the Jimmys. Crossing my fingers this will fix the issue."Frag the weak, hurdle the dead."
Good judgment comes from experience…and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
