Is there any word?
Just wondering if any of you have read what the heck there doing about fixing this game (PC version)?
I go to the official forums and see alot of complaints but no mention of fixes...
I got the Direct2Drive download version, and even thou I've fixed my stutter/pause problem (by turning foliage way down, even thou I shouldn't HAVE to do that), I still can't play for more then 5 mins without a complete lock up.
If they are not going to address these major issues within a timely manner, I want to jump on direct2drive to get a refund...
any word or info?
One of the worst PC game launches in quite a long time IMO.Magnum

Re: Is there any word?
I have the steam version and I haven't had any problems at all? The game is pretty visually demanding, I wonder if there's a tweak guide out there anywhere? I'd watch this site because they've been the best in my experience.

Re: Is there any word?
Windows Vista (32 bit), the only patch direct2drive has released, which i think was that quick fix patch...
I really don't think it's a lack of power on my system, or the hardware since I use the most common hardware... and have zero, none, nil problems with any other game.
At first i thought OK could be me, but then i looked in the support forum and saw that the problem is quite common... but yet no admittance or statement of address on it.
Oh well, if not fixed by Vegas 2 I'll get a refund...sadly.Magnum

Did you apply the direct2drive patch on a clean installation?

Re: Is there any word?
I think this has been a poor launch. Clearly not what a community of dedicated FPS gamers was looking forward to. We lack VOIP and many people are unable to play the game. It has been over a week with less than encouraging feedback from the devs. The recent launch of ETQW felt like beta till the first major patch which came about 3 weeks after launch. I suspect FFoW will take the same route. There are clear technical issues that will need to be addressed for this game to succeed. Right now, consider this title to have a less than finished feel to it. On the plus side, the developers do seem committed to eventually providing a wonderful game. The game has clear potential, but they need to fix some major bugs to allow people to play the game.

Re: Is there any word?
It's a bummer that there are a few of us who cannot even start the game at all. I still get the splash screen crash with the steam version. It has something to do with an error ATI made I guess. I'm very disappointed.

Check this out guys: http://status.kaosstudios.com/?p=15
This did it for me. Before, I just removed the openal file, and the game started, but no sound. Then I did this fix, and its workin' fine.

Re: Is there any word?
Thanks anospa, but I've tried everything. Specifically, the game wasn't optimized to use the X800 even though it's listed as a requirement. ATI needs to address this, I guess. KAOS has shifted the blame to them on their web site. I have an X800 GTO so it should work eventually. Unfortunately, until this is corrected, I have to play the waiting game rather than the real game.
