Unfortunately, Scarface is right... if you're in private chat, you cannot talk to anyone in the in-game chat. What scarface suggested with the MSN messenger would work though. If you have the 360 chat pad, you can easily pull up the chat menu and send a quick message. Until we get some kind of SL chat, this would atleast let everyone know who's attacking and defending what.
