That's ok, you don't have that old man smell yet.

I had all the space lego sets. Sure wish I hadn't gotten rid of them. My kids have inherited all the Lego sets from my brothers in law, man they are nuts about 'em.

you guys had it made, I didn't have any cool toys like GI joe, as matter of fact my older brother and I didn't have many toys at all. the closest I got to the cool toys was at the toy store wishing for one. or seeing an ad for one on our little black and white tv. My dad was a church sexton {I was born in '61} and we never had alot of money, my first bicycle was a put togeather from parts from the dump, dad did manage to get me a new banna seat with high rise sissy bar for it from turning in old scrap copper pipes and iron raditiors from the urban renew projects that were going on all around us. heh, my bike had a blue frame, yellow forks and tires so bald they looked like the cheater slicks that came on the new store bought spyder bikes, but I had a new seat and high rise chrome sissy bar and I was happy with it.

But don't worry. Far more important for our new movies not to offend anyone in Cairo or Karachi or Paris or Palembang. After all, it's only a toy. It doesn't mean anything.

Wasn't there some car commercial where Barbi leaves Ken for a GI Joe in a hummer?

I remember when I was around 8, I got that leg lander set. It didn't even have lego "people". You had to make a man out of blocks with a clear block for the faceplate. Had some kind of jointed tubs for arms or something. But dang it was nice.

Man, this confused me. It is the 25th anniversary of the mini-GI Joes which came out AFTER my time. So I'm older than that, but thankfully younger than the guys who played with the real GI Joe from 1964.

I distinctly remember playing with the little green army men though. What could be better than arguing over who shot who first in a sandbox.

[I wondered when someone would mention that. ]

    It was a Nissan:

I played with the old style GI Joes back in the late 60's and early 70's. (I was 8 at the time Armstrong walked on the moon, and got to stay up to watch it.)

George Lucas has already urinated all over my childhood. I expect G.I. Joe too as well.
