Evel Knievel: RIP

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...la-home-center

The man had some guts and plenty of broken bones. I remember watching his TV specials and one of my favorite toys was his wind up motorcycle that you'd hand crank and watch it go over your own homemade ramp.

Re: Evel Knievel: RIP

I read an article about him, and his coming to terms with his impending demise -- I don't have a link handy but it was worth a read.

Re: Evel Knievel: RIP

He was one person I thought of while I was riding my crappy BMX bike around the dirt lot trying to get up the guts to jump a milk crate... Evel Knievel, RIP.

Unhappy RIP Evel Knievel

Robert Craig (Evel) Knievel died today at the age of 69. Sounds like it was from his failing health.

Re: Evel Knievel: RIP

I also remember watching some of his specials and yes, I too had the wind up motorcycle with the doll of Evil. Pose him in different positions or places on the motorcycle and it would do different stunts. Which I looked on Ebay and people are sellingthem for anywhere from $35 to $89... thought about buying one AGIAN.
What made this so hard on me is remembering my older brother and myself playing and pretending to be Evil. I lost my brother May 23 of this year from a motorcycle accident, the day before my birthday and 4 days before his daughter turned 16.
