Rep should be available to all. Let's not represent the idea that one must pay money to take part in democracy (even though technically TG isnt a democracy).

It was removed because it was being used as an advertising and recruiting tool in addition to being horribly abused by some.

It's only a temporary change and it will return. I am looking into making modifications that will create transparent tiers of non-SMs. When you first sign up to TG as a non-SM you will be in trial mode with limited functionality. IE: No REP system and some other small minor items. Once you make your first 5 posts, you graduate to a higher level that opens up more functionality. At 25 posts everything opens up.

This will prevent spammers from coming on and using the PM system to send ads for cheap cell phones and the rep system for penis enlargement pills. The tiers will also allow me to fix a non-SM permanently into one class if they are using the rep system as a recruiting tool or as a method of circumventing our community standards to be disrespectful/hostile towards another player in a more secretive fashion.

kind of feel left out on that one.... And its sad you have to take those measures to secure TG space.

Well, when those users would pop up they would also normally post. When I remove their accounts I purge all their posts as well as all the rep comments they send so they do disappear rather quickly.

It seems to be a very inefficient system for spammers to use for advertising. Tons of individuals have, but as I said it's deleted pretty quick. Unless you're sitting there refreshing your rep page over an over obsessing over it, you won't see it.

It is largely targeted to the WoW folks with all the "buy gold here" offers.
