Re: NFL AFC championship game

I just want to see Merriman down some roids on the field before a snap!

I dont care who wins the 49ers have been out since, um 2002. Would be a blast going to a game though.

Sure I would. I call them San Diego, the Chargers and the Bolts, and most people would know who I'm talking about. That's the point of language, to effectively communicate ideas. You know who I was talking about whether, because you're a football fan or from it's context, so I was effective in it's use. Anyone who didn't understand, it really wouldn't matter anyway because, if they don't, they really shouldn't be involved in the conversation in the first place.

Re: NFL AFC championship game

Well I will say it was nice to watch the Chargers take Manning down a notch. That's always entertaining. Plus apparently he has that Professional Oreo-eating league going with his brother anyway so he'll be alright.

Around heah, it's the "pats" and "chahgiz"...

In sandiego, what are the Chargers most commonly called by fans?

Chargers or Bolts. Chargers would be much more common.

Re: NFL AFC championship game

holy hell... not again.... the Titans playoff game a few years ago is the coldest I've ever been.. I think it was 5 degrees with a windchill around -10 or something (yes, that's Fahrenheit). If you're doing something like snowboarding, that's bearable. But standing/sitting there in the freezer like that is different. At one point, I bought a budlight (plastic 16oz bottle), took a few sips, put it down as we stood to cheer for a few defensive plays... picked it up no more than 3 minutes later to find a $7.00 beersicle... damn thing was frozen solid. :/

Looks like sunday's supposed to be just as cold: http://www.accuweather.com/forecast-...etric=0&fday=5

Re: NFL AFC championship game

Yeah boston is getting slammed with the permafrost already. Last couple years it's been either late or not at all.

As if the Chargers weren't already the underdogs... People can live in -10 degrees?

Not without warm clothing or shelter.

Re: NFL AFC championship game

Living in it's fine... you wear warm clothes, and the walk from your house to your car, or your car to work/shopping/house/etc is pretty short. It's when you work or sit outside long enough that the cold gets through all 47 layers of clothing.

Also - I think the cold probably levels the playing field a bit. Would you rather face brady/moss/welker or brady/moss/welker with frozen extremities?

Heh, speak for yourself.

But I agree - I dont know how much "training in the cold" prepares you for sub-zero game type temperature. Maybe some...but then again, I think brady could play missing arms and legs.

Whiskey, where in MA are ya?

Re: NFL AFC championship game

bah, during that game, not only did the bottled beer freeze, the taps froze up like halfway into the first quarter... time to break out the hardcore winter gear. I remember guys squeezing the beer slush out into their mouths during that game...
