Re: CLOVERFIELD, did anyone go see it..? should I?

the VERY END part of the alt ending that is pretty much identical - that at least gives you something. I do like that the end of the movie in 2 of the endings gives you SOME explanation of what exactly the reason is.

the whole thing made me nauseous though....

I thought overall it was pretty funny - some of the stuff was hysterical.

I probably wouldn't want to see it if they went in a new cinematic direction, as they'd explain everything, and ruin the original experience.
I was thinking either

A. A composite of video taken by police cruisers, military robots, UAVs, aircraft, and so forth, satellites, traffic control webcams, civillian webcams, and so forth, with commentary by government and military officials doing a debriefing, or

B. The same sources, but being observed in real time by the staff of the military command center overseeing the operation to evacuate manhattan and contain the critter. The film could either be from the footage of an individual assigned to record events as they happened, a news team stuck or assigned to the command center, or culled from security camera footage at the site after the fact.

Ya I would like them to do a "traditional" monster movie.

By traditional I am talking about from the POV of the military/government.

As I said before, would not be as unique as the first film. Like Blair Witch 2, they done it the conventional way, and no-one saw it.

Re: CLOVERFIELD, did anyone go see it..? should I?

I wonder if they could do well with some unconventional media. I'm specifically thinking of small short length, episodic mini sequels, each one a few minutes long, the premise being that they're other fragments of video evidence from the event. It'd be pretty easy to do, as you could skip the giant monster, use loud noises and dust, and recycle props. Just a 3-7 minute clip that provides a little bit of insight into the story. Say, a medic observing a 'bite' victim for the first time, a few police officers trying to clear out an apartment building ahead of evacuation.

Mmm, Idle speculation.
